I still prefer the old layout and I'm not a gadget person and certainly find this new site harder to navigate.

To be honest I don't want an all singing and dancing forum, I'm interested in mainly golf and enjoy reading others views plus contributing now and again. I don't need hi-tec, just basic and easy to get round.

As for being a free forum, so are all the others that I belong to.

I have to say though , what stands this forum above all others is the fact that you feel more part of it, what with the forum meets and the special Manufacturer days out that Golf Monthly arrange.

Not really bothered one way or the other. Ok it took a day or two, to get use to it. But after a play in the setting. Its now how I want it.

But lets be honest the reason you come on here, is the mad bunch that post on here. The good the bad and the ugly(make a good film title that).

The banters good, no heavyhanded modding. Which makes a nice change to some of the sites I've been on and left. As you were alway having to think what you said.

I use an iPad to veiw the forum. It's a bit early to judge but so far my thoughts are....

The old forum used to infuriate me, I would constantly ,in my haste, think the page is loaded and click on the thread I wanted to reader , only for a advertisement banner to load in a the top and index the whole page down, resulting in me selecting the wrong thread.

This new format causes my iPad to freeze when I zoom in to select the next page of a thread. Really annoying.

Other than that seems good so far.

I really like it. It is so much better looking. Posts are easier to read and I like the way that a new post bumps the thread up. Lots of other little touches that I like too.

I agree with the suggestion that it would be nice to be able to navigate back to the forum from the bottom of the page as well as the top but other than that it seems to me no more diffuclt to use than the old forum.

The 10 character limit is going to severely impact on Smiffy (who's member is more senior than mine)

He wont be able to reply just using the word "KNOB" any more

Being able to have 40 posts per page is great and the load times seem to be faster.

I'm glad it's not just me.......also seems to be a delay when typing on the iPad to when the letters appear.

See, now posts like this perfectly illustrate why a "like" function would be useful.

There's a perfectly good substitute for this though...all you have to do is reply to the post you like and just say "+1". Problem solved!

As a "super" mod you can ban the spammers as a "normal" mod you only have editing and modifying rights

Brendy , on IE (latest version) it doesn't display correctly but on Firefox its looks fine...why is that? Also having problems logging in on both browsers, keeps going to 'page cannot be dispayed' then if I keep refreshing the page eventually it logs on.

Have you tried deleting your bookmark and putting a new one in?

I don't use IE but I remember there is an icon that looks like a piece of paper torn in half that can make pages look better if they don't display correctly. Might be worth a try if you haven't already?

click on the spanner and try compatible view, ie 9 is a little flawed at the moment, it does something similar on the company website i am responsible for at work.
