Not getting all this "great that they have given us a free forum"........is there a forum where the members pay for use of it?
I am a member of several and have yet to pay a penny for the enjoyment of using one...have I been lucky so far then??

Although the old one was basic, it was easy to use. Simple. I liked it. however, it's time to move on.
As ever, the forums popularity continues to grow, and so must we. The new forum has many more features that will prove valuable to all.
Will take a while to get used to it, so, give it a chance.

There are Alan mainly professional folks use them, there are even more that request payment for certain sections which will give them upgraded status to use for sale sections etc.
Fact is it actually is great that they provide it free with the little extras which make it so worthwhile like events, competitions and days which arent listed in the magazine due to time etc, they do have overheads and are not obliged to provide anything. A lot of non commercial forums are usually rubbish in that they are covered in random adverts ie under every post there is something which wont even be apt to the forum.

All the ones I am member of are free and I have to say this layout is my least favourite by a mile but time may hopefully change that.

As a "super" mod you can ban the spammers as a "normal" mod you only have editing and modifying rights
And we can hit 240yd 7 irons.

Quick navigation isn't as it leaves out the Lounge, Out Of Bounds and For sale sections;
and Top, which I presume is intended to do that, does nothing.
Mind you I like the auto save, but not how it takes it into its head to make you log in again

I find the navigation a bit of a pain but it isn't the end of the world and its much quicker. The multi PM function is useful. If you hate it as much as the OP - its been great to have you here and see you around, if not then jsut bear with it and I'm sure the bugbears and flas will get sorted or you'll get use to it

I may be picking you up wrongly, but why is it "madness" that I prefer the older version and find this harder to use?
I am hopeless on computers, I don't have 18 years of experience in the computer industry and for a complete and utter computer 28 handicaper I find the changes hard to navigate. I have not slated it nor have I said its Pish like the OP, just saying that I find it harder to use. Not everyone's clued up in IT. This may be a basic forum software but its like navigating the Amazon jungle to me. Yes it will get easier but I'm not sold on this change, yet!

I typed madness as the OP just calling it pish with no real reasons is pointless, just like picking up a new club and calling it pish... why? have they given it much of a chance, and pish isnt really a descriptive way of giving reasons for it being so poor in their eyes.
I understand plenty of people just about know which side of the keyboard is which but to me this software is far more usable and allows more flexibility as I mentioned in another post.

I wont find "freedom of speech" in the dictionary as its a phrase not a word! You have every right to complain. Freedom of speech should always be tempered by a respect for the person(s), groups that you wish to "complain" about. Now, if you have anything constructive to say, please feel free. If not, then back under your bridge to wait for the next Billy goat gruff to attempt to cross.

Jury is out for me, maybe there are advantages for administrators but the presentation is a little sloppy imo - tiny log in boxes for user and password, other tiny texts and the fact that under the welcome user bit it overwrites and mixes with other text I then can't read which looks poor.
The white text on the grey background on the menu bar at the top overlaps into the white box above, just needs moved down a mm or so.
The post boxes are overly big too, could've got more posts on the page like before.
I quite like the quote boxes in italics with the shaded background, I presume you can't now quote someone and then change their quote?
