Anybody got it or can answer the question from the R&A rules section??

I thought the answer to one of the questions didn't answer it at all.

Question first - A ball lies in a tree and the player can get a swing to it if he stands on his golf buggy. Is this allowed?

The answer given (the way I've read it) says that this is fine, but then goes on to say, as long as they move the buggy before the stroke!
So it's not fine?!

I think it's supposed to read that if you take a practice swing while standing on the cart and then your FC tells you that is not allowed and you take it away, there's no penalty. In comparison, if you ground your club in a bunker and then your FC tells you that's not allowed, you still incur the penalty.

Thanks Jake.

I actually had that exact scenario once and I took the shot - although not whilst stood on a buggy.
Nobody questioned it and I managed to get the ball back in play. Should I have been penalised?

If you stood on (buggy, trolley, bag, etc) so that you could reach the ball, then yes. It counts as building a stance, which is disallowed under the rules. If you were still stood on the ground when you took the shot, then no.
