should i buy whats good for the money or go to be fitted and see what they say

i started with the callaway second hand clubs & now my game is getting better I'm wanting some new clubs

i must be honest i do like everything about Callaway but I'm being influenced being a fan of Luke Donald is why I'm changing the mizuna

I'm giving myself 4 month to do the research before i make my decision on whats best to by
17h/c at minute confident will better this summer

any advise would be grateful :)

Dont just choose a brand based on your favourite pro using them! (Doanld uses Mizuno, Taylor Made and Callaway clubs currently in his bag of 14!)

Go to somewhere that has a broad choice of clubs from all the main manufacturers. Be worth doing a swing dna to get an idea of shaft and then hit as many different clubs as you can. Find a couple that suit you then get more specific on which you prefer, then get them fit to your spec.

This is what the marketing guys at Mizuno are hoping lots of people will think too! But shouldn't it go along the lines of 'Well Donald is #1 in the world, so Mizuno gear can't be for me!'? Psychology is fun isn't it!

Mizunos make a great range - and I've had a couple of different sets (MP30s and MP37s) to play and some TP9s for practice. MX23/25s are great game improvement/forgiving irons and I've heard JPX800s are long and forgiving with feel. Still quite a bit of wedge to spend but probably a good time to do it. Go try lots out and find the ones that work best, then demand to buy that particular set - not a set like them. It's amazing how different supposedly identical sets of clubs are - and the same phenomenon happens with Drivers etc!

Good Luck with your search.

I find Mizuno's work for me, tried various irons but always come back to these. I've The 53's which are a great club, one friend has bought the 69's which I've had a go of and love 'em very, very sweet strike. I'd say they're better than the 53's but am more than happy with mine as they offer more forgiveness. Oh and another mate has the JPX 800 pros which I think are awful!

Go and get measured on their DNA system but maybe try a few other brands too, I bet you come back to Mizuno :-) another tip try their Fli-Hi or CLK's as replacement for your longer irons these too are excellent clubs IMHO.

Enjoy your shopping!

Why not get even better with the clubs you have got?

its a case of,, i got them second hand,, i want new & probably get them fitted ,,also the cavity backs on the callaway BB is deep and can be auquide to clean

the funny thing is, i didn't want any clubs before i started this forum,,reading alot of others buying new clubs gets me interested in buying some ,,your a bad lot you lot

& yes if you jumped in front of a bus so would i, if it gave me a better h/c :D

I wouldn't restrict myself to any particular brand. There are loads of clubs that may fit the bill including some like the Cleveland CG 16 (CG16 tour) which go under a lot of radar. The RBZ's will be out soon too and there are the G20, Nike, new Wilsons etc. Basically my advice is go and try as many makes and specs as you can (perhaps wait a bit and look for demo days) and whittle it down to a shortlsit of two or three and then really look at each one in detail
