Think of this the next time you have a shocker.

This is my normal round each week, haha, for a professional thats gotta dent the pride and knock the confidence a hell of a lot.

yeah, but he's a multi-millionaire with a US Open title to his credit....i have/am neither! :(

He won't be loaded for long if he keeps playing like that!! ;)

His confidence went a few years ago if I remember rightly and it took him a while to build it up again - hope its not happening again as its only going to get harder to get back to a competetive level.

i think he is in danger of doing a david duval cant understand why players who have previously been red hot suddenly go to pot after a big win.this was highlighted a couple of months ago in gm.how can a former major winner start struggling to break 80.ian mc

OK how many players have been through something similar to some extent or another ? Obvious reasons are trying different coaches and getting their head screwed up or taking the big buck to play someones equipment that doesn't really suit their game.

I read a book about Payne Stewart recently and even he was drawn to play equipment at one stage that didn't suite his game, he used it for the duration of the contract than changed bck and found his game again.

The pressures on the top players to perform week in week out in the bid to catch Tiger mean that they will try anything if it gives tham an edge.

As an aside, did anyone notice last weeks winner saying how tired he was playing all that golf ! These guys don't live in the real world.

I saw this on Golf Night earlier in the week.

Just imagine how is confidence will be right now.

Many of us will play a shocking round, get despondent, feel well pi88ed off..............BUT,
We will go to work the next day to earn the pennies.

This guy relies on playing well to earn his money.....no pressure there then!

This doesn't surprise me at all....poor Michael....d'you think he fancies a matchplay, no strokes, at mine?

Terrible.

Cheer up! I'm starting to worry about you (the mindset more than the golf)!
Maybe you need a change of ... scenery? ...diet? ...teacher?

Hoping it all looks gets better soon

Thank you for your concern. I've been out today (Saturday) practicing and think I have finally worked out the problem. Been hitting the ball great on the range and the practice ground at my club (hit about 250 balls today in 3 shifts) and finally I am striking the ball well.

Just as well as I have some big news coming up to share (just waiting on a couple of e-mail confirmations)
