Things That Gladden The Heart

Yep when you have had enough you become a homing missile. I’m at a post work “thing” right now and I’m about to push the button myself. 😁

Drove past a hotel today with a huge poster for it's "Christmas Party Nights."

Another bonus of retirement, absolutely no chance of having to attend anything of the sort!🤣

4th year in a row I’ve volunteered to go away in the run up to Christmas means I’ve avoided all my wife’s work do’s as well as my own. I literally can’t stand enforced fun anytime of the year let alone Christmas 😂

How does that work? We won't get a COVID jab this year as the local health service doesn't consider it necessary.

From the NHS website;

It's available on the NHS for all adults turning 65, those aged 70 to 79 and those aged 18 and over with a severely weakened immune system.

I'm 67!

I spent 10 years in a consultancy firm that had an annual karaoke night, "mid September when everyone was back from holidays." I always made sure we were away on holiday with it smack in the middle. 😁

To be honest it was a perfectly pleasant evening, free bar, really nice food, live music even some magician walking around doing tricks and if you don’t mind just talking “shop” to a load of blokes you don’t know then it’s fine but I shook hands at 8 o clock and left them to it… roll on retirement 😁

My wife was walking to the library this morning when she slipped on some mud and fell over. No harm done, other than muddy trousers and coat. One of her listening pods fell out and she asked me to help look for them. Whilst she went looking randomly, I went looking logically, looking 360° all round the key areas, knowing that the way the grass lays can be crucial in spotting something. Bingo, I see a white glint, it's the missing pod.

I knew years of looking for golf balls would come in handy at some point :LOL: . Could we add this talent on a CV?

Or was it the ball finder glasses you keep in your pocket for 'just in case'.
