What a brilliantly lucky day

Old car went back yesterday, just got the damage charges through. £0 even tho the paint came off the roof .. plus the alloys were a bit kerbed 😂

Then Warrenty direct refund £85 even tho I made a claim with them

Excellent 👌

Novax out of the Australian Tennis Open. I get that he is an exceptional athlete and great at what he does and does great things outside tennis, but there is just something about him that I don’t like. Comes across as smug to me sometimes.

Agreed. He wants the crowd to love him yet is arrogant and gets quite narky when they don't.

Getting the formal job offer for a new job. And what makes it better is that it is on the same team I have been working on for almost 3 years as a contractor. The person who interviewed me said it was highly unlikely that I would be on the same team but my line manager fought to keep me as I know the job and it would be stupid for me to swap teams and have to train a new person. The interviewer was still trying to move me up until the last minute but everybody else used common sense - quite refreshing to see these days.

Yeah. Awful man. Whenever he loses it's great for tennis, I can't wait for him to retire. Big fan of Sinner, I feel that him and Alcaraz are the two big guns of the next generation.

I'm desperate for Rafa to be able to come back and beat his record but it's not likely.

I'd say it's almost impossible. He must not be far off retirement himself. His fitness just isn't there anymore is it?

It's a shame that Nadal and Federer peaked at largely the same time and kind of cancelled each other out on the grand slam count. Novak has added a good portion of his after they both declined.

He can't play 5 sets again that's for sure. Played tennis for 2 hours today and home to find the 2nd semi still going. Some athletes.

Earlier in the week I posted in the irritations thread about a friend who had a heart attack. Just back from seeing him, at home. They fitted a stent in one of his valves, the other ones are all clear. That plus a range of pills, we will hear him rattling away, coming around the corner, should see him alright. He is a fit and healthy guy but his father died of a heart attack so the thinking is it could be genetic. He will now be monitored forever so hopefully there will be no more shocks.

2 things blew my mind. One, the stent was fitted by going through his arm o_O. Secondly, it was fitted and he was released the same day. Brilliant.

Anyway, he looked good and apart from a sore arm, felt fine.

Along the genetics line and not remotely gladdening....a mate of mine...his Grandfather, Uncle and Father all dropped with heart attacks at 65..he's 61 this year...
Trying to look after himself as much as possible but has a fairly stressful job.🤞
