Why is a Blue tit sitting on my shiny brass front door handle and tapping away with its beak ?

it has been doing it the last couple of days.

There's a theory about blue tits and collective learned behaviour.
If your front door has a keyhole, letterbox or other features, it may resemble a bird box as a potential nesting site.
Blue it could be figuring this out.
Or it could be just having some fun.

Was just getting ready to close down work and we were meeting frinds at pub at 5.30. At 4.30 Zara get's a call from her mum as her dad was rushed back to hospital and the diagnosed sepsis was in his ruined hip joint and an op scheduled for 7am - but that he was not expected to make it. We rush to book flight - BA was impoossible to book and found it was down. So no direct but got Virgin from Hetrahrow at 10pm. Woke up Saturday and found he had made it through the op against the odds - next 48 hours are crucial but second time he has survived against the odds in past 2 months. Just got to get over this and then the heart valve and new hip can be back on the agenda. The odds seem against Tony making it but he has triumphed so far . Me and the dog on our own for the next two weeks - just got to restrain him from going to the pub too often!

You need to get lucky and hope ia certain thread appears when you open the front forum page, otherwise yes they’re not there.
Loving the ignore function though, can’t believe I haven’t used it before.

When people reply to someone you have on ignore, does the quote from your ignored person not appear?

It's sort of blanked out, it gives you the option to be able to view it though like "click here to see post" or something on those lines

If you "watch" the thread then you get a bell thingy to say it's been added to

Sometimes it does when you get a confirmation email that someone has replied to a thread.. They usually confirm that I have made the right decision having folk on ignore.

Spiritually uplifting day yesterday as choir I‘m in sang at a Baptism in the morning and a Thanksgiving in the afternoon. Both times we were nearly full…especially the morning when the family of the wee lad brought 80 family and friends - none of whom are members and they did seem to thoroughly enjoy the Baptism, and our choir’s singing. It’s lovely to be part of something with others likeminded that brings pleasure and joy to others.

The lady I dealt with at hastings direct this morning. She was blooming fantastic.

Now (bit of a long one) I changed over insurance on sunday (to start friday) for the new car.. (kia niro ev 4) I got a refund of £65 (minus the £20 fee .. so £45) all good.

However I was checking the paperwork last night and noticed the date of reg for the car was 2022 rather than 2024.. I was like ah I want to avoid any coverage issues if I have a problem (touch wood of course I dont)

called up. got a flat we cant insure you (because the reg isnt on the car officially yet and they cant find the car in 2024)

so I called again and this lady was brilliant. we spend an hour in total going through all the options. she put it down as a kia niro ev 2 (which then gave her 2024) however her team leader said no you cant because the model is wrong (the 2 3 4 is the trim level) so the only way to get 2024 was to have trim 2, and the 4 wouldnt go past 2022 (same with the 3)

I then found a second hand one thats 4 months old. I gave her the reg and she said it still coming up as 2022 unable to do.. so she took it to the underwriters and explained the situation fully

she came back delighted that they would insure it as 2022 reg but with a massive note on my file that they are aware its 2024 reg.

it saved a massive headache as would have had to cancel the insurance but thats not the worst part im muitlicar and only the main policy holder on that car.. my wife is on the other car so that would then be cancelled so would be sorting out insurance all over again.

so she has really made my day even though my head hurts how it couldnt be done in the first place but she went above and beyond

Went to bed after the above film, not working this morning, woke up at 10.30am.
Just magnificent.
