Along the genetics line and not remotely gladdening....a mate of mine...his Grandfather, Uncle and Father all dropped with heart attacks at 65..he's 61 this year...
Trying to look after himself as much as possible but has a fairly stressful job.🤞

Now, it could be that they had hard jobs and it distorts the stats but it must be worrying for the guy. I think in his shoes I'd be doing everything by the book.

Earlier in the week I posted in the irritations thread about a friend who had a heart attack. Just back from seeing him, at home. They fitted a stent in one of his valves, the other ones are all clear. That plus a range of pills, we will hear him rattling away, coming around the corner, should see him alright. He is a fit and healthy guy but his father died of a heart attack so the thinking is it could be genetic. He will now be monitored forever so hopefully there will be no more shocks.

2 things blew my mind. One, the stent was fitted by going through his arm o_O. Secondly, it was fitted and he was released the same day. Brilliant.

Anyway, he looked good and apart from a sore arm, felt fine.
It's absolutely amazing what they can do these days!
Good luck to your friend. 👍

Got woken up at 4-15am for the fifth night in a row. Not normally something that I would be pleased with but the reason for me being woken up can be seen in the photo below.

Promised my younger boy that when we finally owned our own house he could get a dog and finally we got a Barney.

Ooh Barney you gorgeous cuddle monkey you - he looks adorable.

Draw for the bowls regional championships was made yesterday… not sure if this is a mixture of a Random Irritation or Gladden the Heart…

There is only one preliminary match, which I have the misfortune to be in. The opponent is someone I practice with every week… Mrs H. Really looking forward to it - she’s a formidable player. I wouldn’t put money on who will win.

On the plus side, we’ve had no trouble sourcing a marker as there’s a queue of people wanting the job. From the chatter we’ve heard, there’s going to be a good number of spectators too… roll on Thursday.

What a lovely weekend.

Yesterday my parents looked after the kids so the wife and I met up with my colleague and her boyfriend a turtle bay lunch (always a favourite of mine).

Today the usual swimming lessons 9am but afters took the twins for their first cinema trip (only one of the BBC programmes but at the cinema) they loved it.

Now drawing at the table whilst mummy sorts out their stuff for the week.

Amazon tablets are great. Eldest watches a programme or something on it whilst one of us puts the twins to bed (other gets to clean and cook) but now eldest likes a game of chess on it when I put her bed. Which is lovely.

One day she will beat me
