Draw for the bowls regional championships was made yesterday… not sure if this is a mixture of a Random Irritation or Gladden the Heart…

There is only one preliminary match, which I have the misfortune to be in. The opponent is someone I practice with every week… Mrs H. Really looking forward to it - she’s a formidable player. I wouldn’t put money on who will win.

On the plus side, we’ve had no trouble sourcing a marker as there’s a queue of people wanting the job. From the chatter we’ve heard, there’s going to be a good number of spectators too… roll on Thursday.

I’m through and I play a player I beat in a club final in September. That said, another very competent player worthy of respect…

The Saltire flies at half mast over a little bit of Surrey at my golf club today with a beautiful blue sky and stately pines as backdrop to honour the memory of a so very well loved and respected member, past Captain and until recently our President. Jim passed away very recently and his funeral was today…with reception afterwords at the club.

With him being a very proud Scot and Paisley Buddy we used to talk and exchange thoughts on very regular basis. I can still hear his voice very clearly as he’d greet me - often out for a walk accompanied by his little white Westie. I found it very emotional seeing his Saltire raised on our flagpole this morning - and actually feel rather emotional as I write and post this.

Got a letter through the door this morning from Honours Student Loans which said I'd overpaid on a closed account and was due a rebate. Googled the phone number and it turned out to be genuine. Spoke to them and they're sending me a cheque for £186 and a second cheque for £865. An unexpected bonus to put towards this year's family holiday.

Food of the Gods!

Lightly toast the bread. Smear with Branston. Put a good, smelly cheese on top then back under the grill.

A taste sensation!

If you are having cheese on toast, the only things that should go on top are baked beans and a fried egg!
Absolutely banging.
