Being contacted out of the blue by an employer I worked for until 1992, and being told that, because of a High Court ruling, I was due an additional one off payment from the pension scheme I transferred out of.

I was only in it for five years so anticipated a couple of hundred quid if I was lucky. Turns out I’m due just shy of two grand.

Don’t tell the wife………

Oooh, new shinies incoming!

Had to spend a couple of days in hospital this week, they thought I was having a mini stroke 😲 Had great treatment on the NHS and loads of tests (CT, MRI, X-Rays, etc) and they found out ……

I had a migraine!
Turns it the reason I lost the ability to think of the right words and being able to string more than 3 words together was because I had a headache - and not even a particularly bad headache. Was really scary when it was happening but all good now and just resting up for the rest of the week. Had great support from work, only trouble is golf mates who can’t see past being hospitalised with a headache 🫣

Any idea what causes the migraine. Do you get them regularly ☹️

Never had one before and, to be honest, I wouldn’t have said this was a proper migraine. It started with some blurred vision, sort of like a large floater in my eye, and then within about an hour I couldn’t think of the right words to say, really struggled to tell my Mrs what was wrong. The headache was the least of my worries, only registering 5-6 on the pain scale . It was very weird and I hope I don’t get another ep

There’s a reason I asked. Your last post sounded exactly like what I get. And unfortunately I get it on the golf course usually when I bend over quick to mark a ball or tee up a ball. Sometimes it is similar to my vertigo. I have come off course mid round a couple of times. 😖👍

We’re now seeing daily social media posts here in Spain advising when electricity will be at its cheapest. The last few days it’s between 1pm and 2pm, hence things like washer & dishwasher gets switched on then.

Equally, we’re also advised when it is most expensive, more than double the cheap rate.

It's mad we don't have many energy companies doing that here. From what I have seen it's only one.

We should be encouraging load shifting , really helps manage demand.

But then that's sensible 🤣

Due to MiL needs up north next week I’ve had to cancel a GP appointment I had on the 23rd. Was offered one on the 30th (…but H4H) but was able to take one offered on the 1st Sept. Unexpected and a relief.

Wondering if my GP keeps a couple of spaces free for those who cancel in advance…or whether I was fitted in because I was not fussy about which of two GP practice locations I’d be seen at, nor fussy about which GP could see me.

Sitting in a very nice restaurant in Italy. My son looks up and says, the food in Italy is decent, but it’s no better than what dad cooks. 😃

We get them here, I think ours is cheapest Sunday 11 am till 4pm. The wife's had the great idea of doing washing and cleaning the house in that time. What a shame I'm out then🤣

Our lad spending three nights with us as he is DJing the Rewind South (Henley) 9pm - 4am silent disco, and we will watch the Women’s World Cup Final together this morning 👍

And he tells us he’s working on The Musical Box (early 1970s Genesis tribute band) Selling England by the Pound Tour in March. It’s my favourite album, and they do incredibly accurate reenactments of the shows that Gabriel’s Genesis did when touring their albums on their release. Free best seats in the house guest seats…Brilliant. 😘

beautiful 2 bed apartment within a hotel complex whilst we away. Means we get a pool just for the apartments which is less busy. Great for the kids. Nearer to beach aswell

Only downside is the bar is a fair walk

Someone left a tray in our apartment so daddy (aka me) gets sent to get drinks

I've been stopped by a few English families asking where I got the tray , and the hotel staff keep trying to tell me off lol

Not a chance. Got 7 of us .. they need drinks and I can't carry 7 of them at once

Worth it for the looks 🤣

It's all inclusive anyways so why you worried. Not like I've taken a week's worth lol
