Had a good sleep with some tape over my right eye to stop it from gaping open and drying out.
Eye is my main problem. Can not shut it on its own. It is rather red/bloodshot.
If I try to do a big grin or smile, nowt much happens with the right side of the gob.
I could be living with this for a few months.
I've told Mrs V that golf will be excellent therapy and I should get on the course at least 4 times a week, not merely twice.

Off to the chemist soon to get eyedrops and 10 days worth of steroid tablets.
Then there is some footy to watch.

Different issue, but I couldn't make it through the night without Hycosan Extra eye drops, if you aren't sure what to get.

Two hours in A&E and I was on my way home this evening with a diagnosis of Bell's Palsy much to my and Mrs V's relief.
Could have been worse.
Good ol' NHS.

Off to bed now.

I can imagine what you were fearing so good news it's something that should gradually improve.

I'm off shopping before the footie - my face might scare the children right now (see random irritations post) so tills should be quiet!!

I met up with my cousin a couple of weeks ago. She has it, was told it usually lasts around 8 weeks, although for her it is now 10. Interestingly enough, when we were chatting I discovered that about 5 other members of my family, all female, had caught it at some point. Possibly some genetic link? Anyway, hopefully it clears up soon for you.

This photo looks a bit like me - still doing a double take when I catch sight of myself in a mirror. Scabs under nose even darker today but hey that means they'll drop off soon (hopefully)!

Must print it off and put it on the mantelpiece to keep the kids away from the fire;)(y)

Only kidding Amanda. It must have been a shocking experience for someone to come through you like that and wipe you out. Very reckless play from your partner.

It was all on prescription as well as some ointment to put on just before night-time taping over and sleep.

10 days worth of steroid tablets.
VIZhyal 0.1% drops.
Hylo Night ointment.

Roll of surgical tape - the doc in AE just slipped into my pocket.

I gave blood this afternoon. Normally I go about 3.00pm, it takes around an hour. This time I booked 5pm, first slot in the afternoon. Straight in, no messing about. I was in my car, leaving the car park at 5.22. I've booked my next apt at the same timeslot, winner 😄

A post that I have yet to surpass, in my opinion.

Being contacted out of the blue by an employer I worked for until 1992, and being told that, because of a High Court ruling, I was due an additional one off payment from the pension scheme I transferred out of.

I was only in it for five years so anticipated a couple of hundred quid if I was lucky. Turns out I’m due just shy of two grand.

Don’t tell the wife………
