Things I have never owned

So are you both saying your wives keep your balls in their purses and you aren't allowed to be your own person, make decisions or even choose what you wear or where you go?.....

Hmmmm perhaps you should seek some sort of mediation to allow you be equal partners ?

That is correct - but only as I choose to not disagree - as much to keep the peace as anything - but mostly as I know that her taste is much better than mine.

As it happens we have never had enough money for me to buy whatever I want - our salaries went into a single joint bank account and we have never held our own individual bank accounts. We (both of us) have had to need something for it to be bought - just wanting something was never really good enough. And so quite rare as purchases for me have been I would rather get it right - and for that I delegate the decision to my wife.

Surely you don't need own bank accounts to choose your own clothes. ??‍♂️

No indeed. Though I did have my own bank account until 1991...then we got married.

But when I need something my Mrs (and daughter if she is about) will make sure that my decision is the correct one - she wouldn't want me wasting our money :) Oddly the opposite does not seem to apply. I might be asked - but Lord preserve me if what I say contradicts her own feelings...:(

It works just fine. Saves me wasting money we don't have to waste...

Something else I have never had is a car that is anything but very sensible. Late 1980s I nearly bought a Renault 5 GT Turbo. Instead I bought a Ford Escort Mk 3 1.6 Ghia...it was almost new, very swish champagne gold and a very nice car - but it wasn't a Renault 5 GT Turbo :(

Must say Ive owned a fair share of cars over the years .. whilst I love my Honda's I did love my BMW I had for 2 years .. regretted selling ..

Got a seat people wagon last month and wow.. even that just brings back so much that I lost with the BMW. The build quality.

All on a debit card. Never owned a bona-fide credit card in my life.
