Hi all

Since I moved house I dont get to play much with my old PP, but this coming weekend we've arranged a game at my place. The 1st round of our clubs open competition is also held on that day.

In theory, do you think I could play with him and maybe 1-2 others guys and have them mark my card as an entry for the comp? (Going out after the official comp tee times)

For what its worth I have little or no chance of playing to my handicap!

Cheers all

Adam

I agree with Jezster - the only relevant answer is from the club in question in respect of this specific instance.

As an example, it's an open comp, probably with a prize table and certainly with players from other courses - surely you would be operating some element of control over when entries play, and cards are returned, in order to sort out prizes in a timely manner? Ie it's not just about whose marking the card.

Given that most opens around me operate on a draw basis I don't think it would be allowed to go out with pals.
The opens I have played allowed you to ask to be grouped with fellow club members, but they all wanted a CDH number or stificate to prove your handicap from your club.

Just as an update - I was NOT allowed to play as part of then comp, the ruling was that another member of the comp would need to play with me.

I put a supplementary in anyway......and went up 0.1 , 1 shot outside buffer.
