the_coach

He has given me some advice... Top bloke indeed. I correspond with him via private msg and he has been kind enuf to write lengthy responses... Sometimes overwhelming, but always helpful.

Maybe he's not in California !

Justone has been a bit quiet recently.

Maybe it's James sat in his pants in Crawley!!:o

That has crossed my mind that it could be James under a pseudonym.

Then again all of his posts are normally when my misses is awake, who too is in California. Look at his posts and you will not see much between 8am and 4pm, his night time.

I hope to meet the great man in the near future, but hey maybe I will not say who it is either. I think the mystery surrounding him is funny. Maybe it is Harmon, but why would he be on an English forum. Maybe it is Leadbetter, that is why he goes on an English golf forum. MAybe we will never know who it is, I just hope he keeps coming on and giving his great advice.

It's British I reckon.

Just got back after 9 hole practice game & this is all a ways strange for sure. Who'd have guessed just offering sound advice would throw up such weird theories, time out, seems some folks getting a tad confused.

lol, Who Is The_Coach?

The plot thickens... 'time out' US origin 'Tad' UK origin

So an American who spent time here or a Brit who's over there... are you Donald Trump :)

I think this man of mystery clearly has a huge passion for golf and passing on his knowledge which is great news. My only concern is that his posts are too technical for handicap club golfers. The level of detail is great for elite amateurs or professionals but a 28hcp struggling with a slice isn't going to understand the advice being offered.

@the_coach......keep posting the good advice, it is very much appreciated on here. Just dumb it down a little bit.

"Know your audience" springs to mind.

ps....I also believe he is in California, what does he have to gain by pretending about his location?

Wait until he gets some chomper questioning whether he knows what he is talking about. He will soon get bored

:whistle::whistle: Helloooooooooooooooooooooooooo!! :D

My 2P (sterling) worth is if he /she gives good advice and helps people it is a good thing and thanks to The _coach for that ,

one thing tho when he/she is established on here for a while will he/she be questioned by some on every bit of advice ?

EDIT .. sorry Birchy missed your post first time mate but yeah , what then ?

We had (hopefully still have to an extent) one of the most helpful teaching pros ever who gave freely his knowledge and experience and was reachable for anyone that wanted him , but some , not even the people looking for advice seemed to want to undermine that .. and what happened ..

To the_coach fair play for all the free help & advice i realy do hope its always well received & respected

To Bob .. always appreciated , not forgotten

Having The_Coach here is a good thing....

Which inevitably means that someone will be along to spoil it soon enough. As soon as night follows day, and bogey follows birdie..:D

He/she seems extremely knowledgeable and certainly appears to have helped posters out ( kinda opposite of me really :D )

Can only be a good thing

Sometimes when you have knowledgable people about a certain subject or are a qualified coach etc -they sort of throw it around and in people's faces a bit where as the coach seems a very approachable person - if he is a coach I would think he is a successful busy one

So what cool courses have you played in America, that we'll know. Whistling straits, TPC sawgrass, Beth page Black, or even the illustrious Augusta?
