To Bob .. always appreciated , not forgotten

Absolutely. Been good to see Bob posting a little again.

Justone has been a bit quiet recently.

Maybe it's James sat in his pants in Crawley!!:o

Nah, James can't resist the odd word in CAPITALS :D, not him. Missing your posting also fella, hope you come back.

Seen a "from the get-go" on a the_coach post, so def USA-ville for me.

Anyhow the_coach, I did mention the sense of humour on here - just a bit of fun on a slow day - do keep posting as the feedback is def positive.

Cheers

I have NO IDEA what you mean :p

Still here, but only now and then. The Coach has fitted in nicely, and realistically I have little to add to his posts and not much to disagree with. If he's playing USA h/cap then his UK one would be about 2.

I actual played last week and shot a reasonable 10 over, I'd take that as a first round since end of Nov.

But, have you and the_coach ever been seen in the same room?

More importantly, are you sat in your pants ?:o

Isn't Monterey, California the location of Callaway HQ?? Mark Crossfield was there this week too.

Maybe the_coach is Lefty or caddie Bones or a Brit Cally Player

totally disagree, US handicaps are far closer to actual playing ability due to their system, he'd be nearer +2 imo.

I've played with many Americans and guys off 3 or 4 were better than many club pro's here

To be honest I know it isn't an English site either. I just did a bit of fishing and dangled the bait wondering who would be the first to take it.........

You are all wrong, the forum is American. hosted in Massachusetts and the main GM web site is California. So there you go, Its American.

At Scratch level, it's all pretty similar - a Scratch golfer is a Scratch golfer anywhere.

But I've seen plenty of 6-8 index guys who tend to play about the same as 9-12 guys over here. My 12 UK handicap was considered 3 or 4 shots too high as an index in NZ.

Yup I'd agree with that.

Went to NZ on a 7 and soon dropped to a 5.
Got down to 3 just before we left and on a 6 back here now

I know there are different handicap systems at play here, but what is it specifically that causes the differential between the two? Are courses generally easier in NZ?

Of course, you could have been playing better golf at that point. :)
