Just about to call it quits at work for the day and head off to Betchworth Park in Dorking for a round with the old man and a couple of friends.

It's been in the diary for ages as it's hard to find a weekday that we can all play so no chance of rearranging!

Packing plenty of extra balls and adding weights to my trousers! :)

I am heading out later this afternoon. Could be very interesting!!

It hasn't stopped raining in Birmingham for 48 hrs... I'm so gutted as I booked this week off work so I could play everyday.

Enjoy guys...

Playing this afternoon in a howling gale...could be interesting....
its our Hockey Club golf society day..........some are members of golf clubs...........some are members of golf societies..........some only play in this event and is their only experience of golf...............some will never have played in these conditions........should be some interesting scores.....even then I suspect it will still be won with 40 odd points by the "just stick me down as 28 handicap" brigade.....

Wanted to get to the club today and have a serious session on the practice ground on pitching and also look at my swing. No point in these conditions and even a practice round seems a waste of time. Day away from it for me and I'll pray for play in the test match and watch the golf instead

i suspect you guys have the weather we had yesterday in ireland. i was heading to the range but said to myself if i see anyone on the course ill head out for a few. sure enough there was two hards lads heading up the 12th when i arrived so i jumped out and played 5 holes and did some chipping. i thought it was time to call it a day when the rain picked up another gear and the roar of thunder in the distance. i have my limits.

Wouldve thought you should be able to get more than 40odd points off 28 Rick

Went out on the range this morning and it told me sweet FA!
Hit the ball, straight, straight, get over the trees.........GONE hard right.
Just started having a laugh with a mate in the end as it was impossible to tell what you were actually doing.
3/4 pitching wedge dead on line should be around 100 yards, over the trees and gone 50 yards right. It was more like playing to a 30foot tall batter.
Next doors shed roof felt in my garden, 2 trees down about 200 yards from my house and it's still blowing hells delight.
Enjoy your games lads it's perfect for practicing your punch shots!

Going to the golf rqnge this afternoon to exorcise my poor play yesterday. That said, it was tough yesterday with 4 hours of solid rain, and the wind picking up.

Just want to concentrate on the strike really. If I get that, the direction will sort itself out.

Course closed anyway, as we have a Herts golf union scratch matchplay from yesterday til Sunday. Bet they are struggling in the conditions, and the rough is 3 foot deep in places, often just off the fairway.

Yesterday was won with 39 points off a 25 h/cap. I would have had to shoot gross 3 over just to lose on count back. I couldn't be bothered playing really.

I'm on the south coast and we're getting 60 mph gusts at the moment. I can actually see the second fairway of my course from my house and have only seen a couple of brave (mad) souls out there this morning walking at a 45 deg angle. I can understand people going out if they are desperate to play in a gale but for me it's no fun and plays havoc with the fragile rhythm of my swing.

I think I know what gaol must be like. Seven days without golf so far, saturday and sunday also (five day member), monday not looking good. Club match tuesday which will probably be cancelled, wednesday is out so it looks like a fortnight's break. It might do me a power of good!

It's nice blue sky in Essex, few clouds around.....perfect for playing golf in....unfortunately there is also 30mph winds so we're knocking our Friday night knock on the head tonight, seems a bit pointless. Not due back out till Sunday morning in a stableford competition so let's hope the wind has gone by then otherwise that could be a very interesting round of golf, especially if my slice makes an appearance!

Played pretty well in the end. Went round in a fairly respectable 94 (Par 69) as a 21 handicapper and amassed 33 points.

The wind was pretty brutal but the rain managed to keep away for the majority of the round so still enjoyable!

Played with Fragger as usual this morning....
By 'eck it was hard work - nearly got blown off my feet mid-drive on the 9th...
Actually played pretty well for my 30 points. A few holes were virtually impossible to score on due to the wind..
Rain mostly held off - quite good fun actually..
