I thought I'd start this as our own live chat-line. I can't get video (or radio) feeds at work (thanks IT gestapo) so I'm down to live scoreboards (and some of those are pretty slow). However,

it's nice to see JD doing well - I've decide that if he has a good run I'm definitely buying another pair of those trousers - I'd love to see him live sometime.

I see that Robert Rock's caddy is on form too, one down at the first, now 2 up,

there'll be more

Mine is disappointing, was supposed to be working at Leuchars station on early shift, that comes with a free ticket and could head over to St Andrews when the worst of the crowds had gone.
Now late shift at Dundee with no chance of getting down. Just have to make do with tv coverage this year.

daly is now 7 under! wow... blinding start. interesting to see if he can hold it together. sitting working away with bbc online on in the background so i can flick over to it if anything exciting happens.

lots of good golf so far. ishikawa just missed a monster long putt for birdie by about 1".

Padraig in the bvurn - what a plonker! Think he has got one back so he might get over it (the embarassment if not the water)
Yep John Daly looks like he's on fire - but with muted pants.
Badluck Viscount. Hope we part-timers can keep you posted.

Have it online at work, trying to get inspired for a match this evening.
Tigers in the pink (never seen that before) and Daly has turned back the clock - nice to see.
Which is worse - Daly's Reebok sweatshirt and mullet from 95 or his daft troosers now?

Wow Rory's just eagled 9th - good stuff, I've a few quid on him!

Tom Watson is last currently, maybe not his year.

The Old Lady is being taken apart - where's the wind?

Got the Open app on my Iphone (good BTW) - not great as working but keeping me up with the scores. Got a couple of quid on Els and Fisher.

Looking forward to a Sky+ evening spent catching up on the action....while fast forwarding the boring bits. Its amazing how long you spend looking at a leaderboard or the local 'colour' on the Beeb!

Home alone, sitting on my corner suite drinking cups of tea, not missing second of coverage. Doesn't get any better.
Don't you just love shift work?

NO!!!!

Cause am on a four on/off shift and just started today!!!!

Finish each day at 7pm

The advantage of being your own boss, (well the wife is the real boss, but you know what I mean!).

Tele on, answering emails, coffee; I just hope it lasts after I pick up the 3 year old from pre-school Could be an afternoon of Cbeebies for me!

But I wish the beeb would stop some of the inane talk. Give us more info. more, locations of the players on the fairways. I don't know every hole so I need a better idea of what the players are doing. What clubs are they using (or is that free advertising on the beeb?) The Tiger domination of the first bit of coverage was not surprising! Tee off just after live coverage starting. Coincidence? I think not!!

They could make the coverage so much better than it is.

BBC Live on line, working from home. Just keep muting the coverage whilst on phone to customers.

The Open has such a special feeling.

Whilst lining up his chip (Padraig) jumped over the Silken Burn to line up his chip as if he was trying to knock it in.
He put it 10 foot past the hole and two putted for a very poor six.

Daly is on the walk way near the Road on the 17th, poor chip to about 12 foot, might drop a shot here!!!

Some seemingly cracking golf thus far. Nice to see the British contingent staying strong in the early stages, hope they can keep it up!

Shame I'm only on the Beed live text and Interactive Scoreboard from the official site. I thought about Sky+'ing the whole day's coverage but know I won't have time to watch it all later, so will hope for some late night highlights with Hazel to keep me abreast of the action. It's actually the one thing I hate about The Open, they play at civilised times! At least when we have a US Major, I can catch all the action on Sky Sports when I get home from work!
