THE Open draw sheet.....

Love the way the player who's name is mentioned in a fix is Woods... Pathetic

It's written as if it has been fixed for Tiger himself... Does what times best for you Mr Mickelson have the same ring to it??? It's not fixed and no player would be asked what times best for them so why is it being suggested that Its based around what suits Mr Woods???

Not at all mate, I read a thread expecting to read what people thought of the groupings and less than half a page in its suggested that the draw is made to suit Tiger, like I said pathetic.

You made the reaction to a light-hearted, tongue-in-cheek, off-the-cuff comment that mentioned Tiger...

You're reading far too much into it.....

And in answer to my question - would you have posted the same if MIckleson had been mentioned instead of Tiger....?

I'll take it as a No......

And your taking too much time and effort to argue against my posts, why are you bothered if I'm asking why Tiger has received another inappropriate bashing? Sarcastic remark or not and it wasnt written like it was a joke I simply said it was a pathetic dig at Woods again and you have taken it to heart and felt the need to defend the fellas post who wrote it, you didn't make the comment so why are you bothered?

It was nothing against Tiger at all and it wasn't a woods bashing at all. I was merely making a comment that it wasn't a draw and it was fixed. Its a draw centred around Woods whether he likes it or not. Do you agree?????

And that's it in a nutshell - it wasn't a dig at Woods, Mickleson, Els or any of the players.

It was a dig at the R&A.

Just assume for a moment that Tiger was in fact asked what time he'd prefer to go out - how could anyone even think that it's Tiger's fault? He'd be a fool to not pick the best times for him.

The R&A, effectively, fix the "draw" to get the high profile players out on the course when they will get maximum TV exposure so they can maximise ratings........

You're the only one who thought anything in this thread was about Tiger......

Do I agree that a 2:45 tee time favours woods or is made around him? Not at all. So greens that are marked up with spike marks and so on are going to make his job easier? No! Rory and Phil have the exact same times on opposing days. Is the draw made around them? Possibly all three as they are who the public want to watch and rightly so. So to single out Woods as the player who has had the draw built around him wasn't right either.

Does it matter though in my opinion the comment was a stupid one and that's that so I'm not sure why there are others wasting there time in questioning it.

Would guess this has a major role to play. Not looked at the draw in detail but would put money on two of the 'blockbuster' groups being at opposite times (am/pm) so as to make sure they've got a star group to follow at all times.

That's it Tiger's group is 14.45 & 9.44 while the Rory/Mickelson group is 9.44 & 14.45! A draw it most definitely is not!

How can the words what time would you like Mr Woods not be a dig at him, its like saying here you go Tiger we can fix the draw for you so you have a better chance of winning. The fact is it didn't say what time would you like Mr Donald because it wouldn't work would it. People like to see Woods as a cheat and rule breaker so that's why his name was used in a fixed draw.

Haven't you got tea to cook I'm bored!!!

Some real feathers being ruffled over a throwaway remark. Get over it. Back on track it isn't and never has ben (certainly in the modern era) a random draw in the same way something like the FA cup is. Actually, wouldn't that give the RC singles a bit of spice if the last day singles were out of hat?

The majors are done in a contrived fashion. Can you imagine a marque player being out early with a rank outsider. Not good for either player and not a draw for TV as the round will be largely over by the time coverage starts in full. This way, everyone gets their slice of pie and the alternate AM/PM times means that in theory weather conditions and course conditions should equal themselves out
