INSTRUCTIONS FOR HANKLEY COMMON GOLF CLUB, TILFORD, FARNHAM, SURREY GU10 2DD 01252 792493

Registration from 7.30 followed by bacon rolls, tea/coffee. Please register before you eat.

If you are running late or have to pull out at the last minute, please ring the club on 01252 792493 and speak to Stacey Harrison. She will pass messages on to the organisers.

£60 cash required for golf, plus extra cash for nearest the pin/long drive, programme, raffle tickets etc. Could forumers please tell their guests to bring cash, as cheques are no good to us.

Raffle prizes, please remember to bring something with you for the raffle. Last year this worked really well, with nearly everyone going home with a prize.

Shotgun start is at 9.30, but if you are teeing off 1a), 5a), 9a), 14a) and 18a) you will need to tee off at 9.22. There will just be the one shotgun at 9.30, so use your own watches.

Dress for the day is smart casual. Golf shoes including rubber soled shoes are not allowed in Main Lounge and Dining Room. Please shower and change after your round. If you want to wear jacket and tie that is fine, but not compulsory. If you are playing in tailored shorts you must wear either single-coloured knee length socks, or white sports socks which come above the ankle. To be honest you would be mad not to wear these types of socks as the heather is thick, and there is also a lot of spikey gorse. Remember you are playing on a common, so keep an eye out for adders !!!

Please do not take trollies in to the heather.

Mobile phones are forbidden on the course and clubhouse. If you must use them, do so in your car. These are club rules not mine so no moaning !

The following tees are a short walk. Please note we are playing from yellow tees.

1,2,3,4,5,6,9,18

2 and 3 Walk via 1st tee
4 Walk via 4th fairway
5 In front of clubhouse
6 and 9 Walk via 5th fairway
18 Walk via 18th fairway

Tees 7,8,10,11,12,13,14,15,16 and 17 can be driven to, and instructions/map will be available on the day. Track to these tees is right next to the car park, so you do not need to go back to main road. Please leave clubs in car when you arrive, and change shoes in car as well.

Score cards will be already made out, and you just need to add you current handicap. The first named on the draws sheet is the Team Captain, and they need to collect all four cards at registration. Every player must complete a card. We don’t want four scores on one card as it slows the scorers job down. It is a stableford, full handicap, and you need to mark your partners gross score and stableford points on each hole. You should also put your own score on the card, gross and stableford points, so you can agree your card before signing. Player and scorer to sign, just as you would in a competition at your club. Nearly everyone is a member of a club so knows what to do, but if you are unsure ask your Captain. At the end of the round Captain needs to collect all cards, and hand in all four cards together to the scorers. Cards must be handed in, however bad, as we do not want FISH to be chasing anyone. !!

To avoid slow play, you must pick up when you can no longer score on a hole. We do not want any 9 net 8 for 0 points on the card.

Sorry for heavy handed approach, but we need to make the scorers job as easy as possible, and have the results well before we finish eating. The full results will be posted on the forum after the day, and it will just be winning scores that will be announced at Hankley.

Lunch is from 2.30, and if you all sit down at a table you will then be called up. Meal is three course, and the food at Hankley is great. If you are unable to stay for lunch you will unfortunately not get any refund, as we have already booked and are committed to pay for all food.

We expect auction, prize giving from 4.00, and a finish at around 5.30

Finally, good luck, play well, have plenty of laughs, and make it a day Rickg would have been proud of.

Please keep this thread for queries about the day General comments can be made on the other threads.

This caused the biggest delay last year trying to identify and sort out the cards so please please adhere to this, I have more than enough to do on the day whilst attempting to enjoy myself without chasing missing cards and getting them to our scorers, we really want and need 100% of the cards handed in please.

An angry fish ain't a pretty sight :smirk:

Lets all have a great day at a great venue and lets all enjoy ourselves

Carry some change or small notes out on the course as there will be buckets for you to throw some fines into as always :fore:

I'll also be happy to hear of any funnies and anything worthy of a mention that occurred out on the course so please feel free to approach and share with me, I don't bite :smirk:

The penalty hole is 2. Miss the green and £1 in the bucket. It is only 116 yards, so not expecting much in the bucket.;)

Could Liverpoolphil take the bucket out for us. Thanks.

The turning into the club is just beside the Duke of Cambridge. Grey building on the left coming from Farnham. There is a sign to the golf club but easy to miss it. Drive right through to club parking. Don't park on the road going into the club unless car park is full which it shouldn't be.
