£95 PaidFor the 15th Golf Monthly Forum Help for Heroes Charity Golf day we are heading to the beautiful West Surrey Golf Club. The Club is five minutes from Godalming and 15 minutes from Guildford. The date is Thursday 5th September.
West Surrey is something of a hidden gem, and unlike a lot of Surrey courses is parkland rather than heathland. Playing at the beginning of September we should have the course at its most scenic best. It is not that dissimilar to Tandridge where we played a few years’ ago. www.wsgc.co.uk
A round of golf at West Surrey would be £115 this summer, and we have been given a great deal of £95, to include coffee and bacon rolls on arrival, 18 Holes individual stableford and a two-course carvery lunch. The food alone would normally be £33.
There will be a shotgun start at 10.00a.m., which should ensure an early finish The total number of players we can have will be 80, though we may be able to squeeze a few more in nearer the time.
The donation to the H4H charity will be £25 again this year, so the total cost will be £120. I will set up the charity JustGiving site shortly. In the meantime, put your names down on this thread if you would like to play.
To speed up registration, I will collect monies due to the Club, £95, in two payments. £45 by the end of April, £45 and £50 by the end of July. Please note these payments are to be paid to me and not to the JustGiving site.
Please keep an eye out on the forum for details of how to make these payments which will be posted shortly. Those that played last year should already have my bank details, but anyone that doesn't will just need to send me a pm.
If you have to pull out after making payments to me, you will receive a refund providing cancellation is not within the last week leading up to the event. There will be a £10 administration charge though for returning monies, and this charge will go direct to the justgiving site. Please note that donations made to the justgiving site cannot be refunded in any circumstances.
Initially places will be allocated to forumers and to one guest, but I anticipate more guests will be able to book places nearer the time. West Surrey is fairly flexible on numbers so we will try and squeeze everyone in that wants to play the day.
Hopefully Papas1982 will be able to arrange another game at a nearby course, either on the day before or after West Surrey. If you are going to stay overnight it is worth looking at hotels either in Godalming (Premier Inn) or Guildford (Travelodge)
I know quite a few forumers that have played in the Help For Heroes charity day only come on the forum infrequently, so if you are in touch with any that you think would like to play, please contact them and direct them to this post.
If you have any queries regarding the day, please ask on this thread or drop me a pm.
Rich.
