The Open 2025.

I'm not sure 'slow players' had that much of a part to play in yesterday pace though
Slow play , the sort to be criticised,is time wasting. Doing things you shouldn’t, not doing things you should ( soon enough), and generally faffing about.
Other parameters that cause going around slower (than some others) isn’t culpable, as some go on about.
E.g. A professional will be slower putting than most mid cap amateurs.
They look at the putt from every which way, etc, and rightly, because it’s their livelihood.
I had a putting lesson on the course from the club pro. He was telling me to look at the putt from this angle, that angle , backwards sideways etc .
I thought, “ if we all did that for every putt , God knows when we’d finish”
But, from his point of view, it’s what’s needed to do his best to win.
I don’t know anyone in our Seniors competitions who I’ve played with who takes the same length of time preparing to putt, as I see the professionals on the telly.

So, to my mind, what is happening at Portrush isn’t ‘slow play’. It’s the way it is.

They are getting so lucky with the weather so far.

I'm 30miles up the road and the amount of rain we have had the last 2 days is crazy. Haha

Early doors of course but after Bob Mac I'd be pretty content with Hatton winning... but for the player reaction & photo ops, imagine if it was Haotong Li !

A friend at Portrush has just put this into the group chat

"Selling 1x Sat and 1x Sun ticket for The Open.. I'll be if I am watching Harman win again" :ROFLMAO:
