The Open 2025.

I love the layout of the course. Loads of birdie opportunities but plenty of bogies if you are slightly offline.
The risk/reward holes are for me what makes courses interesting, the back 9 at Augusta has loads of them which is what I think makes the Masters great to watch.

I was thinking though The US open gets criticised for having long tough rough off the fairway and around the greens but often links courses are the same and people just say that’s the way they should be.

Never a fan of The Open joining in with the featured group stuff

Should be a random draw - it’s lazy and just allows the coverage to focus on a few groups
Can you imagine Scheffler and McIlroy randomly being drawn to tee off at 6.30am? It would be carnage for spectators getting into the venue and TV would hate it.

It’s how it used to be , they don’t need to be all the top players in the same groups imo

They concentrate on these players every week - it’s The Open so imo they should be showing as many as possible

I agree that TV should show as many players as possible, but you can't have a random draw in this day and age with the size of the crowds, especially if the big names were drawn first thing in the morning or last thing in the afternoon. Getting such crowd numbers into the course for 6am, or getting them all to leave at gone 9pm would be a nightmare.
