The Open 2023

I’ve heard ā€˜si senior’ at Rahm, ā€˜chips n gravy’ at Tommy. Both more amusing than the usual ā€˜mashed potato/light the candle’ etc, but…

If you heard audio only from previous opens, you’d know it was the open. There’s a distinct crowd noise of shock at how good the strike is, admiration at how far and straight, and a kind of ā€˜go on’, followed by clapping. Would be a shame if that changed.

Ps - it should be curry n chips anyway.

I thought it was just the Americans who shouted nonsense at golf events??

I remember listening to an interview with Steve Williams where he said the scousers were being rather unpleasant at timesz

Only bright side to this thing is I have £2 e/w on Cam Young at 60/1. Just need the older Fitzpatrick to sneak into the top 10 as well.

I’m going to be seeing a waggling golf club in my sleep tonight though.

Assuming he doesn't make a horlicks of the last few holes, Harman could be 6 or 7 clear by tonight..
I think it reasonable to suggest that Rahm will do well to match today's score as will Young.
Level par round probably wins it by 2 or 3 easily....
Sadly, this won't make it a particularly good viewing spectacle.

Laura Davies just said Harmon would prefer to only be 1 ahead instead of 5 ahead going into the final round as ā€œthat is a much more comfortable leadā€.

Honestly, do these people even think about what they are saying?
He isn't going to sleep a wink tonight 🤣

Walking the dog tonight and passed a guy taking clubs out of his car. Morpeth stayed open, it was their invitation Day. How soggy? šŸ¤”

Can’t imagine that would have been fun. I think it’s only stopped raining for about 30 minutes today, just a constant drizzle after that deluge during the night. Club Championship tomorrow has already been postponed.
