Love movies but haven't been for awhile, really looking forward to Skyfall Oct 26th:thup:

Taken 2 is on my list but probably won't be as good as the first one.

Looper, the Sweeny and Resident evil5 are also ones I want to see on the big screen with big sound.

What films have you seen in the cinema recently you would highly recommend seeing in the cinema as opposed to waiting on the DVD?

I walked out of Looper last week, not my thing, although my mate stayed and enjoyed it. I also gave up on Anna Karenia halfway through, I did enjoy the Perks of Being a Wallflower though.

I've gotten bored with the usual hollywood movie, they're just so predictable. I've seen quite a few foreign movies lately though that knock the socks of anything hollywood is producing these days. If you don't mind subtitles, check some of these out: -

Red Cliff (Chinese)
Old Boy (Korean)
Come and See (Russian - good luck getting hold of this one!)
Trollhunter (Norwegian)
Rare Exports, A Christmas Tale (Finnish)
Downfall (German)
M (German)
Rec (Spanish)
Secret in their Eyes (Spanish)

Red Cliff (Chinese) - excellent
Old Boy (Korean) - compelling
Come and See (Russian - good luck getting hold of this one!) -friend has the digitally remastered copy, will check it out
Trollhunter (Norwegian)- weird but interesting
Rare Exports, A Christmas Tale (Finnish)
Downfall (German)- timeless
M (German)
Rec (Spanish)
Secret in their Eyes (Spanish)

good shout Jimboooo, I didnt mention these, Das Boot (all 4hrs) was on Friday night, superb stuff and the subtitle version was far superior

Agree with troll hunter , very enjoyable.
Ddd - the raid is one of the best films I have seen in recent years, so brutal and yet compelling.
Call me thick but battleship is very entertaining.
Prometheus good but as good as it should have been, somehow lacking in conviction.

Didn't fully read the op but watch the above anyway!

the OP can change, hadnt factored in so many excellent foreign movies only available on DVD

My mate and i used to go to lots of Spanish films when i lived down south. Our wives only cottoned on the reason why much later.
