Fave horror movie?

Interesting choices there guys. I guess it's hard to define horror. I class it as anything that has me second guessing turning off the lights at night. Here's a wee list of good ones.

Blair Witch Project
The Mist
Paranormal Activity 1 & 2
Dusk Till Dawn
The Messengers
Carrie (2013 remake)
Texas Chainsaw
The Devils Rejects

Two that are similar but not really scary horrors are The Frighteners, and Odd Thomas. The Fright Night remake with Colin Farrell in it was creepy, and the Fright Night 2 film where the woman is the vamp is good too. So many to keep you up at night.

The Changeling, still frightens the life out of me, the kids ball bouncing down the stairs, so simple but effective.

I'm a big "horror" fan....the gorey stuff doesn't scare me, but I do enjoy them.

Some of the standout ones for me are:

All of the Screams - true to old school horror rules with a hint of real life to them
Paranormal activity - proper proper proper "jump" films. (probably my number 1)
The Evil dead
Halloween
Hills have eyes (because of "that" scene - really really disturbing)

Evil Dead remake is excellent. Also the Rob Zombie remake of Halloween is really creepy

Always loved horror. My top ten:

1 - Martyrs
2 - Alien
3 - The Exorcist
4 - Interview with the Vampire
5 - Inside (L'interieur)
6 - Videodrome
7 - The Evil Dead (1981)
8 - The Thing (1982)
9 - [Rec]
10 - Let the right one in.

Not a great horror fan so - and definitely can't be bothered with the slasher/gorefest/frightnight sort - but films like Don't Look Now and Rosemary's Baby are the sort of 'horror' movie that I enjoy and stand re-watching for me.

Blair Witch Project? How the heck can that make anyone's list? I've seen plenty a crummy film over the years but Blair Witch sits way below any of them. It ranks as my "biggest waste of time" film of all time and remains the only film, ever, where I've wanted my money back as I came out. Not "cacky pants time" just pants. You'll guess I don't rate it.

Not a great fan of the genre, but The Wicker Man, & for some reason, The Fog will both have me hiding behind the sofa.
