So, three weeks of no golf seems to have worked.

Played in our final monthly medal of the season today - stood on the first tee and really couldn't be arsed. No expectation other than to hit lots of rubbish shots. Which I did.

But not as many as I thought, and I ended up shooting level handicap despite a crappy annoying triple on the 18th (I blame the 15 minute wait, which runied my rhythm!!).

Felt like I'd missed out on a cut but have since found out that CSS was 2 up to 72 so my nett 70 sees me get a nice little 0.6 cut, taking me down to 14.9, and I came second! :)

So, after flying out the traps at the start of the season and hitting a wall since, I'm feeling a lot more positive now. Just in time for the Winter League. Bring it on!!

A once again happy Achilles

I managed to get out onto the practice ground today for a rehabilitation session. The first concerted practice session off grass for a while and first tikme since my mum passed away. As you'd imagine some good, some mediocrity and a few "oh my gods" that were not so hot. Plenty of work to do before I feel comfy about getting out on the course again as the driving and long clubs were just so in and out.

On the plus side it was good to be back out there without worrying about the phone going at every moment or having to watch the clock before heading up to London. I know mum would have wanted to me to get back on the horse so this week I'll be hitting the range. With the funeral on Friday I doubt I'll be in the mood to play next weekend (and the reason I pullled out of H4H as I really don't think I'll be in the right place mentally) but hoping I can go to a range and be on my own with my thoughts but able to also work on my game. I've pencilled on the 20th as my glorious return to playing
