Tiger won by 12 shots.
Why would you then want to change the swing that beats the best in the world by 12 shots?
I saw an interview with Tiger yesterday and he was asked what changes he and Sean Foley are making
His reply amazed me. :D
We're changing the
setup
grip
posture
backswing
iompact position
follow through
Can anyone make so many changes and still play fluent golf under pressure?

If you were coaching the world no. 2 golfer, would you try and change that much or would you go back to the swing of 1997 that won basically everything?

you would want to go back to Harmon, but Butch cant run out on Mickleson, leaving Tiger looking for second best option.

Tiger will do a Mike Weir and soon realise that S&T ain't all its cracked up to be.

Age. His body can't reproduce that swing any more, it also lead to knee surgery.

Have to agree. His impact position back then put enormous strain on the knee (which eventually gave up the ghost) and his back. I dont think his body is strong enough to repeatedly get back into those positions

I think he'll be happy with "the swing Foley built" after this latest tournament. He didn't hit any really destructive shots and just needs to trust it down the stretch which will only come through time.

The difference between winning and losing was the putter, those "must make" putts that always used to go in sometimes slip by now.I'm not sure this will be something he works on with Foley but it must be a concern or he wouldn't be changing putter.

Or maybe this is the trade off for Nike sticking with him,he has to use their putters every so often. :D

like everyone that `tinkers ` with there swing - it`ll be hard for him to go and replicate his 2000 /2001 swing - even with the numerous videos that he `ll have of it . i think `imo1` hit the nail on the head - he`s just not putting as well as he used to ...u can beat a good golfer - but u`ll not beat a good putter ! ;)

As others have said, I'm sure I saw an interview with him somewhere where he said he initially changed his swing because it was going to wreck his body.

Something else I thought was interesting, someone (can't remember if it was on here or the commentary team) said when he was coming down the last 6 or so holes and under a bit more pressure he reverted back to his old swing a little (relying on his dominant habit under pressure).

If he's hit thousands of balls to ingrain a new swing and still reverts to his old one under pressure, what hope have the rest of us got hitting maybe 100-200 balls a week, if that.
