I'm following a young lady via Twitter called Charlie Douglass who is going onto the Ladies European Tour http://www.charliedouglass.com or @CharlieDouglass on Twitter (worth a look).

There is less coverage, less money and arguable a bigger outgoing to prize money ratio as fares hotels cost the same and less money further down the field so do you think rookies on that tour have a harder time keeping their card compared with the men. Her season starts in Morroco and the Euro prize fund is only 325000 for the field

How come the US tour and other sports such as tennis etc seem to attract decent sponsorship and prize funds and the European tour doesn't. Is it purely down to a lack of TV coverage and if so wouldn't you have thought the tour would have looked at something like Eurosport as a broadcasting partner?

I'm looking forward to seeing how she gets on. It'll be tough but I've not idea what the magic number will be to retain her card.

I think I recognise her - there was a Lady Professional flogging lessons on eBay a few months back, could well be her.

Hope she does well - even though she can't possibly be old enough to play Ping..

I've been following her on twitter for a while too. It will be good to see how her rookie year goes.

The LET is a decent tour, but the money is very poor, due too lack of sponsorship.

I caddied for a couple of girls a few years ago and due to the money being so poor, my wife and I asked the girls if they would like to stay at our house for the week during their stay in Scotland. We also used our car to pick them up and return them to the airport and made sure they were well looked after. We had a great week and they really enjoyed being in a family environment, rather than a soulless b&b.

Good on ya for following the ladies tour, we can learn so much from them as my old coach Maureen Madill used to say.
To that end me and Mrs upsidedown are heading out to the

tomorrow.

Played it last winter and shot 78 :D

Wow there's some big numbers on that leaderboard - 29 shots from 1st to last!! :o

Yeah the old North easterly was blowing well this afternoon ;)

Didn't affect Ms Sergas much though. Good shooting if tthe wind was up.
Feel sorry for the girl in last place though, is it worth turning up tomorrow when you're +21?

I find it hard to hold any interest in female tour golf. That course they are playing is 6200yds long and someone is 21 over par!!!!

That's not a profession, that's an embarassment.

Next time Melissa Reid is playing Wentworth I might offer her the same hospitality - not sure the missus would be overly impressed though.

Scooping the ball over your shoulder, neat trick
