Was out playing with my father and brother in law and things were pretty slow. Were were stuck behind a number of fourballs (which personally, I think should be banned!). There were two guys behind us and one of these nearly killed us four times in the round. He'd tee off when we were in the centre of the fairway waiting for the guys ahead to get off the green. He's take his second shot when we're still on the green. At one stage a ball landed 10 yars to the left of my father without any sort of warning and he picked it up and hurled the ball into a lake.

The crazy thing is that this guy apologised and said he doesn't normally hit the ball that far, yet he still didn't learn and it happened twice more. I shouldn't need a crash helmet to play golf!

Just don't understand why people feel the need to tee off on a par 4 whilst your on the fairway awaiting the green to clear or on par 3 whilst your on the green we all have limited time and want to play at our own pace but need to accept it's not always possible. The excuse I don't normally hit it that far may occasionally apply when a ball trickles onto the green of a par 5 but on the full in the fairway 3/4 times no way just an impatient a hole!

What's wrong with fourballs ? Why should they be banned ?

In this instance it's a public course, so you know before you go that it's going to be busy and probably slow ;)

I play a public course when I visit my family in the North East, (Newton Aycliffe Oak Leaf Complex), and if I remember it costs around £400 per year to join. and is £14 a round. It's a good parkland course and it's generally very friendly.

I have no issues with playing it and it's often much more crowded on my local course, (Long Sutton).

I'd expect it was afellow forumer firing a few 'warning shots'... we've got all sorts here. Apparently we can't stand the group in front keeping us waiting but expect those behind to wait as long as it takes.
