The height of despondancy

Is it worse to know that you know how to drive, but just can't at the moment.

Or to know that you've never been able to drive?

I've worked out that if I could get the damn wee white thingy 230 yards down the fairway, I'd be able to play this game a bit.

But knowing that my tee shot is either going to be stright and 190 yards down there, or deep in the doodoo rough, so needing at least a shot to get back to the short stuff, and will always be thus, has made me give up any thoughts of getting better.

:(

For me its the first option. During the comp I hit 2 sweet drives over 250 yards - long, high and straight. Obviously something went wrong with the others but it all felt the same to me. So I know I can do it. AARRGGHH!!

I understand your predicament though. Maybe settle on what you've got, work on getting the ball on the short stuff, getting near the green in 2 and then chipping/pitching and putting you'll score better. Work on your short game if you really can't hit 230 straight. Good luck!

I have been having the exact same problem....I got to the point where I didn't have to think about my drive at all and then I got complacent. I started messing with my pre shot routine... This is where the problem was (I found out last week when a I shot a 105 :o  in the first medal) the guy I was playing with said he thought I was standing too close to the ball on address, I stepped back maybe 1.5" and what do you know since then I have been back to my old self. It caused so many other problems yet it was the simplest that caused them all.

So Bro
Did you get to the range on Friday?
And if so, How did you get on?

Or are you too ashamed to share it with us?

Still Gloating over my maiden win
