The Free Golfdotz Proved Pretty Useless

Well that has answered that one for me.

I saw them and boldly stated that "no one will be daft enough to use these!"

Wrong!!!! (again).

I tried to use mine today, every single one had stuck to the paper... Wont be wasting money on those.

Although to be fair every single golfer seems to mark their ball at my home course so I dont bother, easy enough to identify then ;)

Put all mine on, the Shamrocks did fine for 9 holes, you'll have to ask the new owner of the ball how well they lasted after that, the targets did equally well for the other 9 (on a Bridgestone if it makes any difference to adhesion & longevity). As a bit of fun they are okay, as a regular investment they aren't cheap; not quite the pain in the infraction that some people would have you believe to put on, although you wouldn't want to be faffing about putting them on a provisional while your partners are waiting, overall thanks for the freebie GM, but when they're gone they're gone & the Sharpies are staying in the bag.

nothing wrong with the tincups, its a great product made from stainless steel. does exactly what I need it to do. yes I could mark my ball with two or three dots in different colours. but wheres the fun in that. standing on the first tee 'Wilson staff with a big happy smiley face, boys'

I marked 2 balls with them and I have to say they both looked good after 9 holes each ball. I did make sure that it wasn't in line with the clubface when hitting off the tee and even after spinning to a stop on the green there wasn't much wear on it. Shame I lost them on the 9th hole each time as I would have liked to see how much farther they would have lasted.

One thing I did notice is you get a little air bubble when going over a dimple so I popped it with a pin and pushed it right down into the dimple.

Cold weather may effect longevity in some cases. Applying the golfdotz firmly on ball in advance and keeping the ball warm will improve duration. Best Performance over 50 degree (10 degree C) weather.
Cold balls won't help - best keep them warm guys.

Sharpie pen all the way. Cheap, reliable, accessible & reusable. A few dots or a line, some initials & the ball's all yours.

I must admit I did warm my balls before applying the transfers.
It's much easier to do things when your balls are nice and warm first.

hardly a great product. A great idea as a novelty I will give you, but the workmanship is really poor and the product is more than double the price it should be for what it is ( a moulded stainless steel half cup with a misshapen template cut into it)

Anyone ever tried the EZ ball marker ?

Did everyone get the exact same pack then (shamrocks, targets, chillies and bombs)? good job we weren't all playing the same course what's the point marking your ball if everyone's marking theirs the same?

That's what I thought! Plenty of people on courses this weekend all sharing shamrock covered balls!

I agree that it is at least £7.50 too dear, but the one I own is perfectly cut out. it has and will last longer than plastic alternatives that I have owned. the novelty is that your ball is marked with a design. great product and all my balls are marked with it :).

if you have a problem with your one contact tincup and tell them. im sure they would welcome ALL feedback
