The forum event to end all forum events!

This sounds like a great opportunity to me. HID is 100% for the idea as long as she can come and go off to visit the west highlands while I play golf (cant see it being a prob ;)) Might hire a nice big car and my shift pattern works out perfectly too

Any chance of playing some nice Parkland instead?

Yes im up for it. Will have to sort a car pool / lads trip to airport for all us Southern Softies heading up North.

In that case I 110% recommend that you stop and play :-

here. It is a wonderful test of golf in an area of outstanding beauty designed by Braid himself. I would happily play here every day. I love it.

Would you like us to turn the wind off as well :D :D. The numbers are mounting up already is it open to readers as well ?

Google has it as a 9 hour drive, so no way I would be driving. Goswick at 5 hours was long enough. Flying is a maybe, or as Viscount says, train it from Edinburgh. flying probably the best, but then you still need to get to the course.

Kind of interested, but would need to decide nearer the time.

While you are up there make sure you play Nairn.

Also, on their homepage the picture shows a lighthouse jutting out into the firth. The whole of this mini peninsula is a golf course and quite a good one, Fortrose and Rosemarkie. Not a long course but well worth playing.

I will be up there in June for a yearly trip anyway and will try to plat Castle Stuart whilst I'm there.

The way I see it is the further South the longer the road trip. play & move could set off 4 days early and get in 4 good tracks en route.
Could hire a mini bus and make a proper "lads" beano of it, :p

Oh no, crisis situation. :D

That's the weekend for my annual spring weekend away with the boys. :(

Need to look into this clash of dates and find a solution. ;)

I am negotiating this with HID and I think I may be winning, driving up there doesnt worry me as HID can drive too, so long as plenty of rest before the games begin im happy, the wife could then bugger off with the car and leave me to indulge. It took me 10 hrs including lengthy breaks the last time I drove up there from Grimsby, so I would expect about the same from where I am now.

Do you think I should contact my ex, enjoying MY house and see if we can all stay for a couple of days? :D

Great deal at only £50

Trouble is when you add on the costs of getting there from here, staying, eats and drinks it works out at the thick end of £350-£400 for a round of golf.

Sorry - don't care how good the course is I can't justify that to HID.

Have a good time.

Exactly what I was thinking Imurg, and so close to the Forest Pines meet. I definitely can't do both and already committed to FP.
What I would say though, the course looks absolutely stunning and the website/ course guide is THE best I've ever seen - just click and enjoy!

Have a great time guys 'n gals.

Golfmmad.
