I have a provisional arrangement with Castle Stuart to host a forum/reader event on Saturday 24th April 2010.
For those who haven't read about how immense the course is supposed to be or seen the pics just check out the website - http://www.castlestuartgolf.com/
In a nutshell it looks to be the best new UK and Irish course since Kingsbarns and is sure to debut very high in our next Top 100
Castle Stuart have very generously offered us a very special green fee of just £50 per person normally only offered to locals and in very limited quantities - in high season its £150 and even £90 for Scottish residents - so a superb saving I'm sure you'll agree.
For those unable to drive, flights to Inverness (5 mins from the course) are pretty good (Gatwick to Inverness up Friday back Sunday on Easyjet is currently clocking in around £100 including golf kit) and accommodation options to suit all budgets seem good.
I am sure if there is enough interest we could look to build a mini tour and bolt on courses before and after the Saturday but at this stage I just want to gauge interest in the Castle Stuart day
This looks like one trip you really don't want to miss out on!

All joking apart, that sounds like a top day out at a fantastic price. I'm interested. :cool:
 
And here was I thinking that my hopeful jaunt North of the border was doomed as all interest has waned.

I would be a definate for Castle Stuart, even more so for a mini tour.

Anyone looking for a cheap bed should log onto Travelodge and get it for about £30. I will be going and can squeeze another 3 in the car and drive up from Motherwell. This is one hell of a deal.

Actually Dodger the bonus is it's Spey Valley on the Friday and Nairn on the Sunday for those who want to if plans work out!

Accommodation in Nairn at around £10 a night- see me once we have numbers for the Castle Stuart day.
 
John I already have eager Goswick Forummers planning the trip....endless places to play on way up/back....could be a great trip,loved the last time I stopped in Nairn I actually prefered it to Inverschneky.

invernairn house is THE place I will be stopping....what a couple of fine hosts and great value.

Definitely worth the trip chaps. And hopefully we can all have a night out in Nairn on the Saturday for a bit of post match banter. Worth staying over for.

If April is anything like last April in the area then we'll be basking in this sort of weather. Here's Ali, playing one of the par 3's at Castle Stuart. He's already planning a Nairn GC v GM Forum day at Nairn on the Sunday morning for those who want to play there too. Will keep you advised of what special rate can be achieved.
