He may be a legend to those that follow Liverpool but, for me, a true legend is recognised as such by supporters of other clubs. I could add Dalgliesh, Keegan, Rush and no doubt a few others around that time all of which are recognised outside the bounds of Anfield. Latterly, Fowler, Owen, Gerrard & Carragher.

Robertson in that group? No way, not even close.

Would never have someone like Owen as a legend of the club

But as there is no factual boundary either way it’s always down to opinions

Some of them very good players and together a great side/squad.
Legends of the club I would disagree with.
I don’t think any would make the best Liverpool 11 for me.
And I understand when people say they possibly underachieved

I don’t include Trent as a legend , a number of right backs better than him

Owen was always about England first , that’s his choice , great player and phenomenal goal sc
Trent and Robertson I would rate the same for me.

I’m just waiting for Billy to turn up and tell us Harry Maguire is a United legend.
Any ideas on who should take his place as a mod when he does? 🤣

Robertson whilst not as technically gifted on the ball as Trent , he was quicker , better pressing , better tackling , better positioning

Trent’s ability on the ball and passing range is outstanding but overall package as a full back Robbo for me

Close but not for me.
If I was picking a best ever Liverpool 11 he would be in the conversation but just falls short.
It is about opinions though and happy to accept some would have him.
Also would depend on what the criteria was if any

For me it’s

Allison/Clem - just can’t split them

Neal
Hansen
Vvd
Kennedy

Barnes
Souness
Gerrard
Salah

Rush
Kenny

Of those, surely only Gerrard should be in that category? Fowler and Carragher are loved as they are local lads made good but they would not make the best 3rd XI at Liverpool and for that alone, no legend. Owen, nope. No league titles during that time, that's a massive gap for that generation.

No room for Hughes?

I had the pleasure of watching the 70’s team a number of times. Clem was immense, and would be my first choice every time. The Hansen/VVD pairing is spot on. But I’d try and have 3 across the back with Hughes + 2 wing backs. Could Neal & Kennedy play as wing backs? We’ll never know.

But with wing backs it becomes a 3 in midfield. Could Souness play alongside Gerrard? The same style with Henderson & Gerrard worked? And who would be the 3rd? Would picking Salah in that formation cramp Dalgliesh? I’d rather see Mane in for Mo. Or go with Barnes, but would Barnes fit in with wing backs?

Rush & Dalgliesh definitely, even at the expense of Keegan.
