Really poor stuff from Slot.

I think if Liverpool had any sense they'd pull the plug and get Alonso in. After such a great first season this season has been a right mess. Chelsea have a run of easy games and United have key players back and Carrick at the wheel. Liverpool could miss out on the CL unless something gives.

What is it that makes Alonso the golden ticket ? Twice he has brought teams to Liverpool and twice been outclassed and managed

Impressive CV, harsh to be sacked by Real and Liverpool connections plus he won't be out of work for long. The odd one off games against Liverpool mean very little. The only concern would be his preference for a back 3 but given how poor Liverool are defending this season and it looks like you've got 2 potentially good wing backs - it might be worth a risk.

Looks like his legs have gone which he needed to cope with the odd switch off. Could do with a couple of quick centre backs next to him in a back 3 :sneaky:

He did well for a season in Germany winning the league and cup

But if Slot does go certainly don’t see Alonso as the one to come in

Would you give him the season? If not who would be your pick?

To be fair, Klopp's record was similar to Alonso before you nabbed him and at a much bigger club in Dortmund.

I mean what was he moaning about with the winner. He needs to look where he was standing (yes standing) when the goal was scored.
it's all very embarrassing really. they were even moaning that it was windy by the seaside!

it would appear they've said "we just weren't good enough" too many times this season so are looking for anything else to bail them out. Pathetic.

Liverpool had loads of possession yesterday but it was all played at walking pace which made it very easy for Bournemouth to defend against.
Bournemouth on the other hand attacked with pace and purpose and looked dangerous all game.

Liverpool have a lot of players that are good with the ball at their feet but if you have no runners it just means lots of safe 10 yard passes in front of the opposition.

The buzz seems to be missing from Liverpool… yet they’re 4th. There’s some decent performances in the Prem this season but, for me, across all 20 teams it’s not been a season that’s blown me away.

I would generally agree.
Arsenal have been the best team but they haven’t dictated and destroyed teams like some of the best sides we have seen over the years.
I think the most interesting is the fight for 4th which unless your one of the teams involved in it isn’t that interesting for the neutral.
Most interesting thing this year could be to see who gets promoted into the premier.
To be fair at least West Ham and Forest are making the last relegation spot a bit more competitive now

I’m not sure who’s coming up with the mighty Boro… ;) :ROFLMAO:

The more I see Liverpool persevere with VVD and Salah the more I realise that City getting rid of Silva, KDB, Fernandinho, Walker, Sterling, Gundoghan etc etc.Was the right thing to do. Don’t get me wrong at times they were all world class. Inc Salah and VVD. But there best years are behind them
Re Robertson leaving be interesting to see if Liverpool fans think his best years are behind him or should he be kept. I think he wants more game time, is that the reason he wants to go 🤔

That description of Liverpool could have been written word for word about Man City for vast swathes of this season. The problem is, and I keep banging on about it on here.Teams will/ do sit back against City, Liverpool, Arsenal etc and hit on the break. Bournemouth did it yesterday and did it very well. But they are not the only team that have done it.
When Liverpool/ City play with three at the back, and wing backs get involved. It creates a lot of space for attackers to get into when the ball breaks down. You need defenders that are quick. And VVDs quickest days are behind him.
I watched City and Guehi yesterday and Guehi was excellent. It was the first time I had seen him in a game. The Crystal Palace fans have been watching a very good player indeed. But it begs the question. Why the hell did Liverpool not move heaven and earth to sign him.
Re Teams Sitting back, fair play to them. They got the win yesterday and others have done the same to great success. It Is down to the top of the table teams to break those defending down. And if they cannot, don’t blame the wind.
