I think Anderson would be a great signing, his performances for England alone are enough for any club to want him.
I havent seen much of Forest lately but when i have seen him him he's the stand out player.
His form has been a bit down in recent months, but then the team as a whole hasn't been great.

I also think he needs a bit of a rest.

I don't know what you say about Solanke? In his last season with Bournemouth he played all 38 league games. Since he joined us he can't stay fit for more than a month. Is that on our medical department? Are they useless? We've had a lot of injuries, but a lot of that was down to Ange's unsustainable playing style as well.

On the England subject - Watkins is still clear second choice despite the underwhelming season so far. Calvert-Lewin deserves to be in the squad on form, but it's not the most enamouring option. He's a bit more of old school forward who feeds off crosses I think? I don't think Welbeck has a look-in really, at his age.

I've mentioned this before, and obviously it depends on his fitness, but I think the player with the nearest skillset to Kane is actually Palmer. If Kane got injured or needed resting I'd be more than happy to see Palmer in a sort of false 9 / complete forward role. That would be the most seamless replacement, in my view.

Then again, Vardy has 5 goals in Serie A this season..
For him to be of use to England to DCL needs to stay fit, his last 3 years were almost written off to injury.

City literally just buying players so Liverpool can't have them at this point.
City being proactive and we're (not even) being reactive. Really really poor from the recruitment team so far in January.

World Cup summer so all business will be late, putting an even bigger onus on January. We clearly need at least a centre back and an attacker. and yet it appears even the tumbleweed hasn't rolled into view yet!

If I was Guehi I'd just stay at Palace and run my contract down. Knows he'll be starting every game, so his England place at the World Cup is fairly guaranteed. Have your pick of clubs for next season. Other hand, you go into the City rotation, play 1 in 3 games, and maybe loses his England place through lack of minutes? Having said that, England managers have a track record of picking big club subs over mid-table starters, so who knows.

My comment directed @Tashyboy was a bit of banter. To be fair to City they are struggling with injuries to their back line.

Surely he’s going to be a starter for City?

Great bit of business from palace.

I would say he walks straight into City’s starting XI. Ake can’t play twice in a week, Stones is on his way out and constantly injured, Gvardiol is out until summer, their younger signings last year haven’t panned out and only leaves Dias!

Great business for City and brilliant for Palace as they don’t lose him in a free.

Not sure how bad it is

They have one long term one in Gvardiol

And then Dias and Stones due back in 2/3 weeks

That leaves them with Ake and Kushenov ( who they got 12 months ago) and have Alt Nouri back

Maybe they should use their academy players that we hear a lot about or recall one of the 4 CB’s out on loan

Why would they do that?
They get a player cheaper than his going rate due to his contract situation.
A proven premier league centre back and England international.
He will undoubtedly improve a squad looking at trying to win 4 trophies this year.

Or is it because Liverpool cocked up on buying him in the summer?

I wonder which it could be 🤔

He can be got for free in the summer 🤷‍♂️

They have international CBs on their books

And the Liverpool transfer didn’t happen because of their manager who it looks like will leave them in the summer , but it’s old news what happened in the summer

He is a very good player , to me it seems like city going out with a hoover again grabbing players but we will see how it pans out

And it’s looking potentially like Palace are looking for more than what they accepted from Liverpool in the summer

Yes can be got for free in the summer but who knows what offers he will get then.
Or City can buy him now for a knock down price.
Makes sense to me.
As a Liverpool supporter I wish they were getting him.
Yes City buy lots of players but most of them play a decent amount and anyone who doesn’t gets moved on fairly quickly

We will just have to see what pans out

He is a good player no doubt and it might help stop Arsenal winning the league 😂
