What I don’t get is why they didn’t look at the offside first, before checking for the foul. A lengthy check for the foul is rendered a complete waste of time in the event the player fouled is offside.

No wonder VAR is so widely despised.

I watched it back - they checked the foul first and then the offside. At least that’s the order in which the review was broadcast to viewers.

He’s off the African Nations tomorrow I think . I thought Pep would have played him more recently but has not bothered because he won’t be available for a couple of months. I don’t know

Yeah I read that on the BBC football gossip page as well.
They pretty much just copy wants on that’s days papers so you can imagine how often they are correct.
Blind squirrels and all that.
Seeing City accepted offers for both Lewis & Savinho in the summer it’s hardly surprising it’s being regurgitated

I was driving north on the A1 around the Angel when the southbound side went empty. Then came police motor bikes, then nothing. I thought PM or royalty. Then came about 20 double deckers with Toon fans followed by more outriders before regular cars again. It was bonkers. Holding up the A1 for football fans

The visitors thing was a funny touch . Fabulously petty. I can imagine the Sunderland ground management or whoever chuckling about that before the game like naughty schoolchildren.
