Re the penalty, if Foden is caught outside the area when he has got the pass away. It’s a foul and a booking for a late challenge. I would genuinely like to know how it is different inside the box.
Again the BBC show a picture of the challenge whilst pundits agree and disagree re was it a penalty. It shows the Newcastle player with both feet off the ground. A couple of years ago that was deemed as “ Not in control and unsafe”. Has that changed.
That said. If you don’t take your chances you’re going to lose. One decision which is open to discussion shouldn’t take away from a good Newcastle win.

Bro in law went to the game with his son. Both reckon it is one of there best games watching Forest.

I think it’s going to be another good season for the “ lesser” teams getting a result every week.

For some reason it’s not deemed a foul if the player gets the shot away?

I’m not sure why this is, if the player punched him after the shot it would be a penalty and red card so I don’t see why a tackle is any different.

I don’t think it was a bad tackle and the lad was trying to block the shot as opposed to making a tackle so I don’t think it was red card (maybe Yellow) but it should of been a penalty.

Thankfully we have VAR now so it only takes four extra minutes to come to the wrong decision

Stonewall pen for me.
The handball in another game ( can’t remember who)was farcical that’s a red card .
VAR is just as bad as a bad decision by the on field ref but he only gets one look.

The first Forest goal was absolutely fine. We were watching the game abroad yesterday and all of us, with the exception of the sole Liverpool fan present, said exactly the same - the Forest player was neither in Allison’s line of sight, nor did he impact on the keeper’s ability to make the save. No keeper anywhere in the world was getting to that, and as such the Forest player in no way, shape or form was interfering. The issue is with refereeing and VAR consistency, not with yesterday’s goal.

Liverpool were beyond awful after the first half hour. And Isak is a poor imitation of the player he was in a Newcastle shirt. I can just imagine the battering United would be getting if we had paid over £100m for a player to perform that badly. And Liverpool have spent over four times that during the summer on players who, if anything, have contributed towards making them worse.

One of the guys yesterday said Slot has some credit in the bank. I think he’s on borrowed time.

Absolutely agree. I thought Rob Green was okay, but as the BBC’s big summer signing, Wayne Rooney is absolutely horrific.

Given the fact MOTD is not, to my knowledge, broadcast live, there is absolutely no excuse for his constant rambling, stumbling over words, mispronunciation of names, and all round general ineptitude. Big name, great player, but an absolutely dreadful pundit. I cannot believe the BBC thought he was worth a punt.

Apart from the European games, which they’re doing well in, I can’t see a fixture they are guaranteed to win. West Ham away = banana skin. Sunderland home = can see Sunderland winning comfortably. Leeds away = this for me might bring Slot’s job under the microscope.

Whatever, things are not good at Anfield.

Am not gonna bang on about one decision which could have gone any way. But an explanation of the what’s and why’s would help. Every week VAR is discussed more than the football itself. And we were assured it wouldn’t.

The goal for Forest should have been disallowed the same as last week

The second one should have been allowed

It should have been a penalty for City

And the Newcastle equaliser I don’t think should have stood


But the Brighton winner was excellent refereeing when he ignored the flag because the player was miles on

I can’t argue with that but I just can’t see any difference to VVDs goal.
That’s my point
Howard Webb said “ because the ball went over Robbos head he was interfering with the keeper.
Yesterday the player was between the keeper and the ball.
He makes a small movement to get out of the way.
I really can’t see a difference . Neither were in the keepers eyeline.!
I would say that if it was any team .
The rule needs to change imo ! If your offside in the six yd box your interfering!

Imo the players are not a happy bunch something is seriously wrong in the dressing room.
Slot imo is similar to Klopp dosnt have a plan B
There’s to many players playing poorly but get picked every game regardless.
Two lads I know ST holders said “ it’s the lack of fight that’s a problem.”

As for Isak he’s been injured and needs time something not afforded in the PL now.
He’s coming into a side that are pants at the moment that’s not easy.

Only seen MOTD as I was golfing.
But that wasn’t great viewing.

Proving imo VAR is not working.

Think the offside was at the other end not against the Brighton players.
He played on because Brighton had the ball in transition.

But it’s modern football where a manager wins a title and 3 months into a new season some are screaming for him to go
