I got a head injury in the first half of a game, playing rugby. I played on but half way through the second half I asked the ref could I leave the field. 5 days later I was blue lighted to hospital and spent 10 days in ICU. Fractured skull & a bleed.

A ref can’t make a medical assessment, that should be down to the club’s medical staff.

Matches should be stopped for any and all head injuries. Yes, some clubs will abuse it to slow games down but what alternative action should be taken for a head injury?

Just let the phisio come straight on like rugby.
If he gets in the way just stop the game.!

So serious injury he gets treatment straight away.
Not injured but gone down there down to 10 men until he gets up . Far to many going down holding their head but when the phisio comes on he’s treating their ankle.

Only stop the game if the ball goes out or the phisio gets in the way .

Yep, but play came to a natural stop 8 seconds later, at which point the physios were running on. And a few minutes later he was running around again.
It's perfectly routine for play to continue for much longer than 8 seconds before the ref stops play for a head injury. Nobody gets their knickers in a twist usually.
The Liverpool complaints are because they conceded a goal, not out of concern for the player.

By comparison, UK average response time for somebody having a stroke is 30 minutes.

It’s a hard watch, 2 teams that usually sit back and hope to hit on the break ends up in neither team really doing much to break the other down. Brentford seem the more likely at the moment though.

They need to paint the seats claret...the gaps in the crowd wouldn't be as noticeable.

Summerville looks the stand out player at the moment and Thiago for Brentford looks decent

But the players to get the ball to them aren’t great so they need to do it themselves

Sums it up pretty well for both sides. I’d say West Ham need to stop playing a False 9 and stop Paqueta in at 10 with a proper Striker ahead of him then they may have some creativity through the middle.

Both teams are what I’d just call functional! There’s no real creativity to either of them.

In other news! Brentford take the lead against a weak defending West Ham though I’m not sure I agree with Alan Smiths commentary of Brentford have been rampant over West Ham. More like they’ve been slightly less poor than a really poor West Ham.

Was a well taken goal but ruled out by his heel when he’s facing away from goal , gotta love the offside rule

Maybe I need to pay more attention because those stats are superb but I haven’t seen it

Weirdly 3 of the changes he made to the starting line up by benching those 3 defenders that he’s now brought on!
