Waiting for Real Madrid vs The Dog and Duck A.
Lads finishing their ciggies before kick off. Star midfielder spewing up after 20mins to clear last night's sambuca chaser.
And flying keepers because the regular goalie has been called out to fix a boiler so they're down to 10. He'll be back at half time though

And when the keeper returns he’ll spend the entire second half sitting against a goalpost working his way through 20 Lambert & Butler (other cigarettes are available at all good tobacconists).

Just saw the highlights of Soccer Aid. Paddy McGuiness must be the worst keeper I have ever seen. That includes the non-sporty kids at school who were just thrown into goal.

His technique to try and save the winning goal was astonishing

Did he make Onana look good?

The world's premier club football tournament continued today. Huge game, possibly dubbed "The Battle of the Americas" was played. Botofogo beat Seattle Sounders FC 2-1. A result that will send shivers down the spines of other clubs due to play the Brazilian outfit later in the tournament.

I bet the players of Liverpool and Arsenal are watching the games on TV during their beach holidays, dreaming of the day that they may be good enough to play in such a prestigious competition.

Apparently one of the teams captain couldn’t go because he couldn’t get time off work.

Got that one in before someone else did 😆😂
I had to 😂

Joking aside, what a disaster for the club World Cup. I am all for the idea for the club World Cup , but surely the idea is to have the best in the world. They/ FIFA are pinning there hopes on Real Madrid selling out stadiums. 😳eh. One club selling out is a success. 🤔
I was reading about some of the Americanisms being added to this tournament. Dear god help us. I did mention the other week about how close the Prem league is to having a majority of 12 American owners. That then gives them the Prem league numbers to mandate change. If football is bad enough now with VAR. Wait til America and it’s hot dog diggy diggy dang dang changes come into play. 😖

PL fixtures are out tomorrow.

Which two teams are geographically the furthest apart in terms of travel time? Cos that’ll be on Boxing Day! 🤣

To have your first tournament feature amateur sides, and played in the USA (which football is famously nowhere near the most popular sport) was a gamble.

Even if they wanted teams from all across globe, some of which are much inferior, they maybe should have had a preliminary group for the smallest sides, rather than pit them against Bayern Munich first game

Also, at least Champions League features best league sides (and Spurs) from previous season. Qualification for this seems ridiculous. Liverpool and Arsenal have been up there amongst the best PL sides for several seasons. Not Chelsea. They should be there 100%

Any comp that allows a team to enter purely on fans voting for that club (or in this case 1 player) has no credability. The PL should ignore it and not sanction any teams entry.

As for potential Americanisms, What makes you think that an Arab takeover wouldn’t be just as bad?
Look at F1 to see how things get changed.

I doubt he was implying it is purely a worry about Americanisms, just that this is where we are close to in PL at moment.

If the PL was close to having a majority of Middle Eastern owners, I'm sure there would still be a concern about that?

I guess any majority would be a concern, if you think those owners will share a common interest that doesn't align with the fans of those clubs

The threat of the Prem league being Americanised is very very real. It is not something I have thought of but something I have read. The threat of the league being Arabised is as much of a threat of it being ruled by Klingons.
To compare to F1 Is not a realistic comparison. F1 is one business, to vote on change in the Prem needs 12 ( American ) owners. It currently has 10.

How is the Prem at threat of being “Americanised” and what does that actually mean

And how does a league become “Arabised”
