That’s a lot to read through in the last few pages, but as ever the problem for me comes down to money.

Sancho, is he good/is he bad. If you’re 23 earning £300k a week how much motivation do you really have. If he had cost £40m and was on £60k a week nobody would bat an eye lid, great value you might say. Go back 20 years and that would be near world record amounts.

It’s simple…..money ruins football, just too much of it around.
I saw a money list last week of what champions league participants got for last season. 😳😳😳😳

For me it’s a double edged sword and they have created a monster. The money earned through leagues etc is phenomenal. Some clubs spend it and spend a good bit of their own on top. Others just drain money out of football. They must be licking there lips, seeing exactly how much money is floating around football. Are owners greedy. Am sure some are, but at the top of that list are agents and some footballers.

So Mbuemo is looking for a weekly wage between £250k and £300k

About 5/6 times his current salary

Major red flag this one.

He's a very good player but not world class and doesn't have the potential to be if you break down his game. Giving him a salary on anything over £120k would be madness. I think even paying £50m for him is a risk as he's only had 1 really top level season in his career and he's nearly 26.

There are some quality players coming into the Prem

Looks like City are going to get rid of a load as well

Looks like the concrete interest Man City had in MGW around the time they were about to play Forest in the FA Cup and also needed them to drop points in the league (that was so concrete that Fabrizio Romano was Tweeting about it by the way) has now cooled off completely.

Well colour me shocked!!!! 😱😱😱

I'd be very disappointed if Man Utd agreed to that.

Yes, they have paid very high wages to Casemiro (£350K) and Mount (£250K). But, it is common knowledge that this was just awful financing by Man Utd, and a big reason why they were getting themselves into financial bother.

You look at some of the other more senior players at Utd, they are on around £120K to £195K (except Bruno, who is on £300K). No idea what they are going to pay Cunha, reported to be around £200K. I'd have hoped Mbuemo and his agents would have looked to negotiate within the £150K to £200K ballpark. Undoubtedly, if things go well, there can be all sorts of bonuses attached to that anyway. But, if things don't go so well, at least he doesn't have the world pointing to his ridiculous salary and how the Club need to bin him to save money.

Would any other club pay him up to £300K per week, outside Saudi Arabia?

Where as this £250-£300k come from?

I think there was/ is a genuine interest. He came last year to view a house we built in Altrincham. Just a couple of weeks ago he got back in touch with my boss to see if we have any new Developments on the go . Make of that what you want ? Ps . Zirkzee bought 1 of the houses & Mykilenko bought the other of last year’s houses

Maybe Salford City have expressed an interest in him? :)

I think the salaries being bandied about are just paper talk, a load of clickbait as they know United sell. In terms of the player I don't see it as a risk, he's premier league proven and if you go for a player with a similar record from abroad you have the additional issues of whether that form will translate.

Plus, revealing you want £250-300K doesn't seem the best negotiating tactic. Because even if the club agreed, they'd just say "OK, we'll go for the £250K option then"

Sounds like someone unrelated to the deal has basically guessed what he might be looking for, inflating it based on the silly wages Utd have paid others, and their calculation has come up with something in the £250-300K ballpark

Willing to pay £250k

Seems a heck of lot for him

With a year left at £60mil and the reported £250k wage that’s a big outlay

Think he is a good player, had a couple of decent seasons then him and Wissa stepped up this season

Reported wages under INEOS:

Cunha - £200k (previously on £150k at Wolves)
De Ligt - £195k (previously on £260k at Bayern)
Mazraoui - £135k
Ugarte - £120k
Yoro - £115k
Zirkzee - £105k
Dorgu - £40k

Almost zero chance they're paying Mbeumo that much.

But did pay Mason Mount £250k ? Maguire £190k , Sancho £150k

Those players above all came in from abroad apart from Cunha

If Mbeumo is asking for it and that’s the player they want then they may well pay it - its part of being without CL football etc

The previous ownership did. I've highlighted the transfers under INEOS.

I believe they actually paid Sancho £250K, before shipping him off on loan?

I think it is widely accepted that the salaries they have given to the likes of Casemiro and Mount were ridiculously high and ridiculously stupid. Would everyone agree with that? I'd imagine INEOS would also agree, especially give the amount of cost cutting they have been doing over the last year.

I'd be shocked if they put all this effort into shipping players out on loan to partly cover salaries, make many staff redundant to cut costs, etc. and then go and pay a player £250K-£300K a week, much higher than most of the other senior players. Bruno is the only player who's £300K salary is not really questioned, but he is the captain and put his years into the club to earn it.

I mean, I'm not saying it is unthinkable. But I'd be surprised.
