McTominay

I know a lot of fans slated him but, for me, as an "outsider" looking in, he always seemed to give his all, and, whilst not necessarily being the most talented player to ever pull on the red shirt, he often seemed to deliver when Man u needed someone to do so.

Have Man U missed McTominay? Would they be higher up the table if he was still part of the squad?

I don't think many Man Utd fans would have disagreed with that. He wasn't slated in the same way as Rashford, he absolutely gave it his all. But, he was so often anonymous in games. Always in the right place, but about 5 seconds too late. Except that, if he got a chance in the box, he could finish it off.

Had he come along at another time, he may well have had a longer and better career at Utd. He could have been a bit of a Darren Fletcher type perhaps. But, things were just not working out for Utd with him, and they were not working for him either. He wasn't going to displace Bruno at No. 10. Ironically, since Amorim came in and played two No. 10's, he may well have shone more.

Best thing for both parties was for him to leave. I'm delighted for the guy, with how it has worked out at Napoli. His skills set has fit in beautifully to that squad. He always works hard, you'll never hear him sulk and moan, a true professional.

Re Gary Rat-Neville.

He’s claimed this is an “unprecedented” step in his whiney statement when it isn’t at all. His own manager refused to speak to an entire organisation (the BBC) for seven years because of things they said about his son in a documentary.

More people have seen Rat-Neville’s disgusting Tweet than would have seen that documentary. Forest are absolutely justified in telling him he isn’t welcome. They haven’t banned an entire organisation, only one mouthy rat-boy.

Personally, I like what Neville said. It seems to sum up your owner quite nicely :)

I guess it's all about opinions. And the fact that Neville's opinions can wind people up so much, means he is doing a great job. Broadcasters love a heated debate on certain views.

Is it really that “disgusting”

Or maybe overreacting a touch

It was embarrassing when Fergie banned some reporters/organisations, same when Ashley did it at Newcastle. This is no different. It's poor from Forest, childish and thin skinned.

What you’re describing there is trolling. If you personally love that approach from a sports pundit, good luck to you. 👍

Trying to sow seeds of enmity and discord between a club’s owner and manager, based on your own reactionary false interpretation of a situation? And then failing to acknowledge, retract or apologise for it, while also never sending any good wishes to the player who suffered the life-threatening injury which led to said situation?

Yes, I’d call that disgusting. I know you won’t agree though Arthur. For some unknown reason you are playing the role of Gary Neville apologist on this one. 🤷‍♂️

If I called you a ****, I’d be entitled to do that under the guise of free speech. If, as a result of that, you didn’t invite me into your house, I wouldn’t be surprised.

The owner came onto the field of play to confront the manager - the optics weren’t good regardless of the reason

He has history of confronting officials etc

Sort it out after don’t come into the field of play

If that’s an owner of another club I suspect you would be critical

There seems to be a complex with the club and fans - all this protected 6 nonsense , officials against us etc etc - at some stage it goes a little over the top

I think Neville is a first class knob but he is a very good pundit and the club should be bigger and just ignore it

Forest responding has given Neville more oxygen and airtime. He gets the opportunity to play the victim card, and Sky get the attention their advertising dept craves.

Pathetic behaviour on the part of Nottingham Forest.

Their persistent displays of collective paranoia make it very difficult for the neutral to continue to admire their achievements this season.

It's spiteful action in refusing accreditation to Neville resembles the behaviour of certain totalitarian politicians around the world who want only their version of the story to be presented.

Like a good many I suspect I had a soft spot for Forest due to the Clough era but the constant whining this season is rapidly eroding that respect.
