Are Liverpool fans that gullible, that kissing the badge hides the fact he has still refused a new contract, with time running out? As a player, I'm sure you can still be passionate about the club you play for, yet still yearn to play at another even bigger club.

I get why Liverpool fans boo, yet I don't blame TAA. It is like someone leaving a long relationship for a better one. Can't blame the person for leaving if their old relationship for a better one, even if it is a difficult and hurtful decision. And can't blame the person that was left for feeling hurt, rejected and bitter.

Disappointed he’s gone I accept. Disappointed he’s engineered the best deal for him, good on the lad. If the club wanted to move him on, they would have. They took the risk, as all clubs do, no doubt with half an expectation that Liverpool born and bred might hold some sway.

Players have a very limited earnings window, and have to maximise their opportunities. As painful as it is for fans to see a top player leave, that’s part of football.

Listening to Moyes this morning and he said that the potential for this has been highlighted to PGMOL and was expressed again when a GK got hurt a couple seasons ago

They just brush it off with talk of the incidents being few and far between

There is a lot of money in football now and everyone wants a big piece of it and especially agents who pull a lot of strings

The level of money going to agents is imo a disgrace but they have the sport and clubs by the balls

I'd cut the lineo some slack here. They have to look down the line to see the pass then turn to see the attacker. They aren't looking across the pitch. It's closer than it seems with the defender stepping out and the attacker making the run.

Likely knew it was off but directed not to flag if they think its close.

It’s very hard to cut them slack for that incident - I know stills show it close but even from that video he looks offside with a decent amount of daylight

In fairness to the lineswoman, she obviously knew it was offside. All she did was be consistent with how PGMOL have instructed their assistant referees to handle the situation.

I would bet that she is feeling absolutely awful about this incident. I hope they don't try and make her a scapegoat for it.

Does the directive come from PGMOL or above them from IFAB ?

Are PGMOL just carrying out the rules or is it different in other countries

Knowing who is in charge of PGMOL it wouldn’t surprise if they are doing it their own way

Ultimately, players can tell agents they don’t want the deal, and some have, but they do turn player’s heads. They’re part of the game, just as some chief executives and recruitment depts turn player’s heads. Let’s not forget, clubs are just as unscrupulous when it comes to tapping up.

Maybe look on agents as being an extension of the player, like the devil on your shoulder.

For clarity, this isn't a complaint about the Lino....she's doing her job, and I've no doubt she'd have put her flag up if she wasn't instructed to keep her flag down and flag after the fact.
I understand it when it's close, but there's about 3 postcodes between Elanga and the last Leicester defender - in that scenario, Linos should be allowed to do their job

I don't see how they can. She followed the instructions to the letter. Had she not done so they would mark her down. This is not on her at all.

The lino isn't watching a wide view video though. I just think it's closer than people are making out. She has flagged and done what she is supposed to do.
Had she flagged and got it marginally wrong the fans would be raging. Sometimes you can't win.

You just need to look at the influence the likes of Mendes , Raiola ( before he passed ) Zahai etc

They have so much power in the game because of the players they have under them

£409mil was paid to them alone this season in just the Prem

And yep clubs have been caught tapping up - at least they try to regulate them

Hopefully clubs can start to stand up to agents but then I believe in the past when clubs stood up to some of the “super agents” it affected their ability to bring in certain players

I think the key issue is the rule

Not blaming the Lino because of a rule they didn’t put in place
