The comp was enhanced a little when CL teams used to drop down after the group stage

You could argue it was devalued as random teams would suddenly drop into it. The teams that dropped into it weren't always the big names either and only 8/25 won it.

What is shocking is the lack of English winners over the last 20 years.

Gross, Francis, Santini and Sherwood.... I think you underestimate how many bad managers Spurs have had 😅

Spurs and Man Utd do have much better squads and first elevens than their league positions indicate though. Man Utd's issue is a manager refusing to budge on his system and the same can also be said for Spurs. Both have had some really serious injury issues too.
I don't even think Sherwood was as bad as Ange. He's pretty shocking. Europa run has been all riding out luck and not playing anyone good. Don't think there's any chance of us winning it. All it's done is delay us sacking him when we should have done. He should have been gone before Christmas.

You know how I'm always saying we're a stupid football club? Well we're also a scummy one too. The women's team were battling for promotion today, narrowly missing out. Wouldn't have mattered, the club didn't apply to be promoted at the start of the season so the whole season was pointless. The team were told today, at full time. Someone's got some explaining to do.

Mason Greenwood almost at 20 goals for the season....

Does anyone think he would get an England recall if he joins a bigger club in the summer? Could see Atletico Madrid snapping him up.

The real problem is why do you even need to apply to be promoted.

It's dipped a bit but if you look at the winners list it's still pretty impressive.

Back in the 2000's crap like Rangers and Celtic made the final.
That's very true and to get to the final in 02-03 Celtic had to beat crap like Blackburn and Liverpool, just a bit like the crap Liverpool had to beat this year to win the league in a canter

My ex neighbour was one of the main women at Wolves women’s football club a few years back. She was one of the top women’s coaches at the time. Travelled around the world coaching third world nations on behalf of the ENGLISH FA. Told me some very interesting stories when she was coaching women in China. Apparently the Chinese men didn’t take to kindly to a woman coaching them.
I actually owe her bigstyle. In 2011 she managed to get me and Missis Tash two tickets to see City at Wolves. The earlier Kick off was Utd v Everton. Missis Ts Utd mate was giving it the big one with txt messages as Utd were beating Everton. Am sure it was Fellani who scored a couple as Utd drew 3-3. It massively opened the door for City.We won 2-0. Beat Utd in the next game 1-0 and then won our game in hand v Newcastle. Last game of the season. City v QPR.
Happy days indeed.

Are you honestly comparing Blackburn of that era to the likes of Arsenal of today? A side who have beaten Real home and away?

Liverpool were also a cup team back in those days and beating them wasn't anything impressive.

His quality as a player was never in question. Him as a person was questionable. Personally if he was to be chosen, the media would go into meltdown.

Very true.

He was actually quite lazy but very similar to Olise in that he had one trick which was unstoppable. Cut inside and get a shot away or square it with a dummy. Both of them are pure ball strikers with very few scuffed efforts.

He really messed it up for himself.

Best finisher United had in years. With both feet.

No he's got every trick because he's as lethal with either foot. Looking at him one couldn't tell if he was left or right footed. He is also an excellent dribbler and scored a few headers for Marseille this season as well. He's better than anything at Utd at the minute, Amad included.
You're correct in saying he messed up big time
