I do not believe that table at all, I go every West Ham home game and the amount of empty seats sometimes is ridiculous.
They may well be season ticket holders though. They have the ticket but can't make it that game. Attendances cover tickets bought, not those who are present, even though that sounds contradictory.

That’s correct, I believe teams count season tickets in their total attendance regardless of whether they’ve been to the game or not. Last season Sunderland were getting 40 odd thousand every home game despite the place being like a ghost town 🤣

I’ve not read the article, so it may well refer to it, but segregation of home and away fans will have some sort of impact. There will always be some empty space between home and away support, and as a consequence empty seats.

All I can say from my own experience is that the vast majority of games at OT are sell-outs, invariably months ahead of match day. If I go on the club website there will always be games where I can pick up a single ticket owing to either ticket returns or season ticket exchange (when holders tell the club they won’t be attending allowing for the seat to be sold for an individual game), but if I try to buy two seats together to take one of my kids, not a chance.

So I’m not sure where the “official” stats for this table come from, because they don’t reflect the reality.

Cunha on his way to Utd. Good, don't play him again all season.
If he is going for more than the release clause, then wrap him in cotton wool. If he is going for the release clause only, play him for every minute, including injury time. Get your moneys worth out of him before he leaves.

I read somewhere there we a number of clubs looking at Cunha so is it a done deal or would someone offer more than United are willing to pay

Are you sure , my blinkered Utd mates swear blind it’s 100% full every home game .

No ground is ever full. I’m not even sure that Health & Safety guidelines allow for a ground to be at 100% capacity.

Looking at that table in more detail it seems that, for the larger grounds at least, the average number of vacant seats seems to be in the region of about 1,000. That would certainly be accounted for to a great extent by segregated areas.

And I’m not having it that any United fans are blinkered. Never. 🤣🤣

It'll be the release clause, because we're a stupid football club, but also, he had the release clause put in when he thought we'd be stuffed without him, bit of a ransom moment in January. Sent off twice, missing 7 games and costing us a cup run, great player but also a bit of a knob it seems.
