Doku finally has an end product. Only taken him the season. If he does that more often he suddenly becomes a very dangerous player.

Tough to take for Villa, every loss matters at this stage

He was lucky !
Miss controlled the ball and wrong footed the defender.
But a great cross 👍

What’s Martinez doing for the first goal though ,just catch it.

Decent game but keepers didn’t have much to do.

I’m going to be blunt here, but the number of empty seats at the Etihad this evening is an embarrassment.

United are absolute rubbish at the moment, playing for nothing in the league, and we still sell out every home game. City are fighting for top four and a Champion’s League spot and there are empty seats everywhere.

Really, really poor.
Not really, a lot of City fans are massively bogged off at the way City are reselling tickets and it has been happening for a couple of years. It’s a very similar situation to what is happening at Chelsea. My lad asked me if I fancied going to wembley for the semi final. Not a cat in hells chance. City have a few thousand seats left and Forest have sold out.
City did a consensus asking about extending the end near the COOP arena. The fans were all for it. Until ticket prices went up and up. All the City’s supporters groups have got together and said enough is enough. They have frozen season ticket prices for next year but there is still a lot to sort out.

When Oreilly was on the left he was one on one. As soon as Doku came on I mentioned to Missis T how many players on Doku. 4. The first time he was one on one he does that. The problem with him a lot of the time is he don’t have a City player close enough to him.

I do find it frustrating to see though, Tash, when I struggle like buggery to get a ticket for a home game at OT despite having been a club member for over thirty years.

Billy, fans have been an after thought at clubs for a long time. My lad was saying City have been to Wembley18 times Since 2018 and some of the times of the games have been shocking. A PP didn’t play golf today as he got home at 02.15 having seen Forest at Spurs. Am sure my days seeing. Ity live are now limited.

Hmmmm.

Purely from a Forest point of view it’s a difficult one. Whilst I’d love for it to be us, you and Toon at the end, right now this moment a City win is slightly preferable for us tonight.

You win, it puts more pressure on us. City win….well, they’re probably gonna get a CL place anyway and it means you don’t gain any ground.

I’m not cheering for City though, you understand. It’s purely a selfish, Forest-centric point of view. I guess you were hoping for a Spurs win last night for similar reasons.
Exactly my own thoughts from a Newcastle perspective....and in respect of your final question....yep.

Another clip I read on the BBC This morning BB.

Quote,
Since Guardiola's first season in 2016-17, City have always won at least one of the three domestic competitions on offer.

In theory, the supporters have never had it so good.

But many are not happy. Protests against ticket prices took place again before kick-off.

Those running the club argue the finance generated allows Guardiola to have the squad he demands. The fans do not agree - and Guardiola agrees with them.

"I am on the side of the people," he said. "I'm a supporter for Manchester City as well.

"I don't have to pay [for] the tickets but I understand the feeling.

"When I go to the theatre or to a concert and I pay for the ticket, I want to see something I like.

"We want them here and we want a full stadium every time."

Re last nights game

It was odd because I thought Villa knocked the ball around really well with a good tempo. But as soon as Martinez got onto the ball. The tempo slowed down to time wasting. Having a look at the rest of the season from Villas perspective. They can score goals, but they are conceding too many. For a team that has aspirations to finish in he top four, the 8th worst defence n the league is not going to help.
That said, I still don’t have a clue who the top five will be.

Man City are an example of the instant success coming back and biting a little

They prob gained a significant amount of followers during a successful period who were more than happy to clap along when the team was doing well

A bit of a down season and those followers will not be too be bothered

Also even during the successful periods the club has on a number of occasions failed to sell out

They will always have that core support who were there on the Kippax at Maine Rd

Also there is the money element

City pay a lot of wages to players and because of PSR matchday revenue is key , so ticket prices are part of that - Pep likes spending money , it doesn’t grow on trees and they can’t use the overinflated and P.O. Box sponsers any more

I suspect it’s prob one of the reasons they didn’t renew KDB with him earning a huge amount , same with Haaland etc - big wages and big fees - money needs to come from somewhere

And in other news - that will be the end of any talk of Martinez being the best GK in the world

Shall we bear that in mind next time Liverpool go into a slump and there are empty seats

Last night was a key game for a CL spot and prob put a massive dent in Villas chances

Going to be tough now

But we have certainly seen enough strange results over the season

An interesting table to look at.

Bear in mind, City's success is still relatively recent and so they are not yet getting tourist fans. Maybe they will come in 10 years or so but until then, it's largely locals I suspect. You don't just create fans, not when you have been next door to one of the biggest clubs in the world for your existence.

That’s the tough one for City

Maine Road I think was around 40k when it closed and I suspect they filled that week in week out regardless of what division they were in

Your new stadium is what 50k ? And you will prob fill it every week

But every club especially those blocking to win league and CLs etc need to maximise the money coming in and fans are getting the brunt of it

PSR has prob made that worse because increased tickets and corp packages are an easy way to get money in

If only all the leagues looked at some sort of salary cap alongside ticket price caps

They need to sort something out soon before it implodes
