Not so simple when you factor in the frame rate of video that they are using (60 Hz), deciding which frame to use for the decision (before or after the kick) and realising that the fastest players (normally the ones at greatest risk of offside) can run 6 inches per frame of video.Margin of error on offsides?
None .......................... there should be absolutely none.
A player is either offside or onside, period.
½" offside is offside, the end.

Half an inch offside on one frame could be 5 inches onside on the previous one.
The margin of error should probably be 6 inches, which seems mental.
In fact, if the defender is running in the opposite direction you could even double that.
Like the old days when you could be offside if your by the corner flag and the ball is passed down the other side.Sorry Iām confused by āwhere do you draw the lineā?
As for interfering, just have it if ANY player is offside,itās offside![]()
Players are clever they will just play the ball at defenders arms! How about just doing away with the offside rule? Thereād be more goals.
And why not simplify the handball rule? Ball hits hand/arm, itās a free kick. It would stop the subjective debate of was the arm in an unnatural position, was it accidental etc.
Suarez used that trick a few times. And no, I'm not being anti Liverpool he did it for various teams he played forPlayers are clever they will just play the ball at defenders arms!
Sad but true.
Among others.Suarez used that trick a few times. And no, I'm not being anti Liverpool he did it for various teams he played for
Oh yes, there's plenty of others. He was the one who sprang to mindAmong others.
If a defender closes down so they canāt get the ball past them they will just aim for the arm.
20 pens a game![]()
Can of worms - where do you draw the line ? What if they arenāt interfering etc etc
Could even make offside as your whole body has to be in an offside position, that way you could be a finger nail onsideHow about just doing away with the offside rule? Thereād be more goals.

Yes he was a horrible little ā¦ā¦ā¦.. but first guy on my team sheet.Oh yes, there's plenty of others. He was the one who sprang to mind
I don't agree. When Antony was on the pitch, I rarely felt he was interfering with playIf they're on the pitch, they're interfering.
Just simplifies the rule, what everyone craves for.
Yep. Although in the other sports there are still errors of judgement.
It's only football where it's still being discussed days later.
Also, there aren't many other sports where one score/penalty/red card given or denied is felt to have decided the result. That level of ref blaming is reserved for football.
Why does Jota Silva look like Jack Grealish is wearing comedy eyebrows?
