After seeing some of the chants rice has had from our away support I think he can't handle not being loved by the club..he think he is realising with some areas of the fan base he tainted his legacy by going to arsenal.

That's 2 games in a row now in the league at his new "home" that he had an awful game playing against us. No suprise to me as the hardcore support who hate arsenal are the away support...

Last year he was terrible in the game, gave away a 90 min pen (that was missed) and we won

Today he was awful. He was ghosted past for Bowen's goal and didn't track him and was hooked at 55 mins.. arsenal instantly improved when he went off

He isn't a rubbish player at all! The blokes fantastic he just can't shake the not being loved it seems to me.. say this as he smashes it up when he plays us at our home.. but there he gets a warmer welcome

Did love this from another forum tho lol

"Blokes got no loyalty at all, Irish one minute English the next.. kissed the arsenal badge 2 seconds after arriving he could be doing it for city next year"
Why would he want to go to Hull 🤔😳👍

I would hazard a guess that change could be called Glazier 👍
Is there not something about man united tho that just needs changing. A complete mentally change behind the scenes as players are looking better when they leave etc

Take AWB. I was constantly told he is a great defender but can't cross at all or get forward

So far this season he's provided 2 assists, 3 big chances creations and 2 goals scores. Bearing in mind we are a much lower scoring team and need more chances to bury goals aswell. I mean he seems really good going forward.

Rashford seems happy again away from united

Antony even learning how to kick a ball

It is anyone's guess what needs to change behind the scenes though (by definition, being behind the scenes). Sometimes I think one of the cooks is putting tranquiliser in the players food before games. If that is the case, that definitely needs to change.

My mate (still lives in N Ireland) managed to get to a rare game this season, v Palace when we lost 2 nil. At one point he had to tell the guy next to him to be quiet (using much more vulgar language). He was appalled at the fans, who seemed to boo absolutely everything and they didn't seem to help one bit.

Small sample size, and I guess that happens at all clubs when team is playing badly. But, if you are playing poorly and you have over 70,000 ppl booing and jeering you, and then having the media frenzy after analysing every single failure you make, I guess many players crumble. If this is a large part of Utd players being rubbish, then improving at other sides, what can we do? Ask fans at stadium to be nice? Ask media to go easy on them?

I think we need more players with a very very thick skin, then take it from there.

Strong rumours coming that we are after Højlund for 40 mil in the summer. Not sure he suits your new manager , watch him come here and suddenly transform lol

Is your point not a victim of your own success? So many glory fans over the years who can't take not winning so get negative rather than the traditional fans. Growing up I hated watching England games with 2 brothers I knew. United fans so if we didn't win (which it's England!) they would be unbearable where as the other mates (spurs, west ham , Fulham) really didnt mind losing. It's life

Your manager given time to get his players in could he excellent but will he be given the time and the funds?

I guess that is part of it, because any club that has had huge success over a long period will increase expectations. It will also breed new fans, who start their journey as a fan only knowing success.

Added to that, Utd are still capable of spending enough money to expect success, and failing miserably.

But, I reckon all fans start hammering players when they are well below expectations. Just Utd's expectations are loftier than say, Southampton. Southampton fans probably booing performances now, but would be very supportive if they were 15th

Having gone to many N Ireland games, it is incredible. We have no expectations, and so support is just amazing. Pure support behind players, and always feels like we give them a huge lift. I always compared that to how many England fans reacted to the slightest of negative that occurs. For example, even before a ball is kicked, you'd have England fans slating the fact Maguire is playing. It felt England players were up against it because of expectations of many fans, and always imagined what it would be like if English fans lowered the expectations, and just looked to give full backing to the players once the ball.is kicked off

I’m sure @Red devil will back me up on this, but those who boo and jeer at OT are very much in the minority. The vast majority of fans, whilst frustrated, remain supportive.

Step 1 with any team not doing well, getting fans anxious = put a shift in, get tackles in. If you watch Shearer's MotD analysis you can see exactly why utd fans might be unhappy. Change that alone and you get your fans on your side.

Utd can manage it against Liverpool, they just need to repeat it in the other 36 games in the season.

Having watched MotD, I look forward to seeing consistency across decisions for the rest of the season with the newer bar level for VAR interference. Odd, when people have generally approved of var interfering less as well 🤷🤬 (clearly the var at the Villa game didn't get the memo. The Cucarella 'hug' 😳)

It’s why the Liverpool fans love Nunez you can’t fault his effort.

It’s their cup final😳

Not a chance !

Unfortunately, United have very little money to spend.
They're the thick end of £1bn in debt, largely due to having been financially raped year after year by owners who really don't give a stuff about anything other than money.
The Glaziers, that's where the problem lies.
The Qataris would have bought the whole club, Ratcliffe is merely a minority shareholder.
Until the glazers either sell up or die, I don't think much will change.

Unfortunately glory fans also exist at clubs who have not experienced success in the last 70 years.

You only have to see some comments from so called Newcastle fans after less than stellar performances, calling for the managers head, moaning that we are never going to win anything, this players crap, that players crap, seemingly utterly ignorant of where we were as a club just three years ago. Like crumbs in a single mans flat, they just need sweeping under the carpet and ignoring.

Rumours are Pogba is in town and Utd are considering a short term contract till the end of the season once his doping ban is over …. Pogba feels he “owes Utd and the fans”, of course he does, he’s 31 and hasn’t played a game since 2023.

IMO would be yet another awful decision by ratcliffe and UTD. Anyone convince me otherwise ?

If he genuinely feels that he 'owes Utd and the fans', then he should play for nothing.

If he feels he owes UTD he should never put a shirt on again. It’s win win for Pogba. If he plays and is rubbish so what nothing lost, plays and is decent he will get a contract and the problems get worse.
For me the problem re Utd lies solely at the Glaziers. I would honestly question why Ratcliffe has bought a “ minority share” in the club.

I’ve also heard the rumours, which suggest a pay-as-you-play deal, so not salaried as such.

I suppose it depends how desperate things are on the playing side. If United end up in a relegation scrap in the admittedly unlikely event one of the bottom three put a run together, can Amorim rely on the bench he had at Spurs last week? The answer to that is probably not.

So I suppose taking on a player currently a free agent on a limited pay-as-you-play deal is one option. Personally I hope it doesn’t happen because it’s a backwards step. But if a short term backwards step is what is needed to secure a better long term future then I’m not wholly opposed to it.

@Lord Tyrion im so glad Forest were kind enough to let us recall JWP

dont get me wrong I really like soler.. however as I said at the time he was one too many changes just because.. I doubt he will be purchased unless he is available cheap as potter will want as much of the budget possible to replace ferguson if we dont sign him and we have 35 million tied up buying todibo already out of next seasons budget

a welcome return from the fine golf swing of a player

This was our main gripe with Rashford.

We knew his ability, and we'd accept it when he goes through bad spells. Frustrating, but wouldn't stop supporting him.

What they couldn't accept was his visible lack of effort. I'm sure he didn't do it on purpose, but looked like he had just given up. If he looked a bit happier at times, always looked determined and ready to run, he'd still be at Utd

Hear a lot of groans of frustration but not a lot of booing. Most of the ire is directed towards the players as opposed to the manager.
I feel sorry for him myself, he's been dealt a bad hand in terms of personnel and a bare cupboard for recruitment.
If the players could get the basics right ie. Run, tackle, face up and press and a first time pass I'd be less critical.
Whenever you watch Utd you think the opposition have an extra man there's always an option for the player with the ball. Utd player has the ball stood there with his foot on it looking for movement or an option. The next move is invariably a sideways pass or one back to the keeper. Cue the groans
