Interesting here because it’s a slight tug and Young had made a meal of it

But is it a clear and obvious error ?

I think United got away with one there.

I missed all bar the last few minutes as I’ve been on the course. I’m slightly surprised the referee was sent to the monitor as any error wasn’t clear and obvious, but had Young not gone down like he’d stepped on a land mine he would not have drawn attention to his attempt to win the penalty. So I can see both sides.

The reason that decision was overturned was Ashley Young’s ridiculous dive. Because however you dress it up, he made a massive meal of it.

I think football fans expect far too much.

We expect professionalism and competence.

No issue with today's decision it's the fact that every other week they claim 'you can see why it's given so not sent to monitor" even though it's the exact same decision as just then

And that Liverpool one with spurs the var Comms on there my god. These are "professional" referees, by all means be "lads" down the pub or outside of the Comms but on the Comms you should be clear and professional. The money they are on expect a lot better. It was a disgrace

Yes Young made a meal of it but that’s not the issue people have with it all

How many times has it been given or not given for that level of contact and the ref has been sent to the monitor

It’s not a clear and obvious and VAR shouldn’t have got involved and even then to not even show the angle that shows the shirt pull as well
No need to lecture me, I pretty much said exactly that 2 comments previous to that one.

I was simply pointing out Youngs performance in going down, and how fans would likely react. Had ref not given penalty to begin with, we'd probably all be laughing at Young

The bit I find confusing is when a player has his shirt pulled, why does he dive forward so dramatically.
Surely he's being pulled backwards, so how can that send him tumbling forwards?

He really didn't want to join United when he did.
He wanted to start next season but was given a now or never ultimatum by United.

Spot on.

Whilst some mid season managerial appointments work, they’re not likely to be successful straight away if your new appointment is going to rip up the tactical plan of his predecessor and start afresh with a squad ill equipped to enact it.

Amorim cannot be judged until he’s had at least two summer transfer windows to sort the mess out.

Doh, because the forward momentum still out weighs the pull back, do you know how much effort would be needed to pull back a 13 stone man running forward. think about it before posting this sort of rubbish, he's not on an elastic band is he.

Unfortunately modern football has the judgements from the first game - time is not something that’s rare

You would though expect some sort of improvement

At least try and make the team hard to beat or try something different because right now it’s not working and it’s got worse

Very good performance thus far

The defending has been solid

Back to 5 at back which I have preferred so far this season under potter

AWB and Bowen almost combined earlier in half with Bowen dragging his shot wide but on the stroke of half time he gets on the end of a brilliant cross (that came after Bowen unleashed AWB in our own half) ending with Bowen ghosting past 3 arsenal defenders and nodding in

Well played

Long way to go tho

Its very strange when the same incident has happened in many games and I can’t recall a referee ever being sent to the monitor - they should only be sent for a clear and obvious error and that’s not clear and obvious- it was a subjective call

If someone pulled me back I wouldn't then take off forwards for several feet.
Hey, maybe the physics I was taught at school has changed.

So keeper is miles off his line.. how on earth is that not a red

Come on VAR do your job
